We're Here and Finally Online! (updated w/pics)
So, it took almost a week to get online but we finally are tonight. We aren't able to have cable internet in our complex so we had to get AT&T DSL. We won't have TV (we can only have Direct TV, no cable option) until tomorrow. Our house phone won't be active until tomorrow. And when we moved in there was no fridge! I've never experienced that in the like 8 apts I've lived in throughout CA (Bay Area, Central, Santa Barbara) but apparently it's not uncommon here in LALALand. So we had to buy a fridge (renting was more expensive) and it wasn't delivered until yesterday because of July 4th wknd. So we were living out of a cooler and going to get ice all the time... did I mention it's hot?! Yeah, just a little. It's was in the 100's over the wknd and cooled down to the 90's. And the first night we got here the medical company that was supposed to deliver DH's life support medical bed btwn 6-7 pm (we set up weeks ago) didn't show up until 2 AM! So DH couldn't go to bed until 4 AM when they were done setting it up. We had trouble with them in the Bay Area, too, but man were we pissed. And exhausted. We're still unpacking. My mom's supposed to come up in a couple of days to help me unpack. My interview's on Tuesday... I want to have Jeanie or Samantha's powers to get all this crap put away!

Wow, that's a lot of unexpected settling in stuff right off the bat! What excuse did the bed people give for showing up at 2am?! I can't believe they even still came at that hour, so I guess on the bright side at least they showed up at all.

ETA: We've been here a week today! It feels like we're behind but I've been really wiped out so the last few days I've been slow getting unpacked. Also we've been busy getting our fridge and internet/phone hooked up.

So glad to see you online again! I'm glad you're all moved in. Man, doesn't there always seem to be something that goes wrong with a move? It's so frustrating. But alls well that ends well, I guess.
