Our townhouse is nice but I have a feeling the builders used some shortcuts because:
1) They painted the bathrooms with none bathroom paint so paint was peeling, so we had them repainted on Tuesday
2) Our a/c is only 7 years old and those things should last at least 15-20 years, well you guessed it we are having to get it replaced today. At least G knows the guy and we are getting a deal
3) There are a few other things wrong but they are stuff you can't tell (like a few things are not even, but you can't really tell)
I know they want to build houses quick but I guess I would rather them use quality material and do the job right and I pay a little extra for the house then have to fix things down the road. I guess for being in our townhouse for 7 years we haven't had to replace that much, but having to replace the a/c is a huge expense, but hopefully it will help in resell.
Sorry just had to vent.

That sucks!
If you watch Holmes on Homes, he is always going in to fix things in newer homes because of that exact reason.

Oh no, how frustrating. I am so sorry.
DH decided he wanted to build a patio before they built a home on the lot next to us. Well, he got his dad to come help and they found a leak, and then they keep finding leaks. The guy at Lowes said that the builders took shortcuts with the materials they used. They've spent a month fixing leaks and haven't even started on the patio. It's starting to annoy me because it's wasting every Saturday that we could be spending with him. I told him he has to try and finish the job before I get back from Conference because I'm sick of this every weekend!
ugh how frustrating! I know when TT and I got married my grandmother gave us 5 acres of land that had a small house on it that we redid. Well we did not touch some rooms because we thought they looked good. Wrong. The house had been her rental property and the guy that lived there thought he could patch holes with toothpaste. We went to hang some pictures and found that out.
