Work doesn't pay for my cell phone, but sometimes I do use it for work, because it is the easiest way to get ahold of me if I'm not at my desk. As long as it doesn't push me over my minutes for the month (never has), I don't care.
We have a client for a show that is in a couple of weeks. She is asking for my cell phone number. How do I nicely say that I don't use my cell for work unless it's absolutely necessary? I don't mind giving it to her as we get closer to the event, but I don't want to give it out now and have her trying to use that number for all of the regular calls that should just go to my office line. I just don't want to sound bratty.
Re: Help me with phrasing (for work)
Can you check your office voicemail remotely?
You could just simply say "The main way to contact me up until the event is my office line or email."
If she asks if you have a cell phone, you can just say no?
OH, I see.
How about saying up until the day (or week of event) the best way to reach me is at my office line. Once we get closer to the event, I'd be happy to give you alternative ways to reach me?
