There is a mouse in my laundry room that is capable of tripping any kind of trap I put in there. He gets the food but doesn't get caught. I even lost my compassion and put out those sticky pads that I hate and think are cruel. I found them both under the washer and dryer with no mouse attached. I have a zapper that I keep in the garage that has caught mice before. I live close to a creek and the little varmits come into the houses around here. I can usually get them, but don't like to use poison because I have six pets and I am afraid they will find the dead mice and get exposed to the poison.
Anyone have any ideas? I am about to get him into the military since he seems to escape all dangers.
Re: I need help for a genius mouse
I've used the orthomax enclosed traps with great results. I also have a friend who uses those safety plastic traps, but he used a hot glue gun to glue a sunflower seed to the trap. That way you don't have to re-bait and the mouse has to sit there and chew the seed, using enough pressure to activate the trap.
HTH!
This Einstein has outsmarted this one also. He even gets into the zapper and gets the food. It obviously does something to him because there will be little tufts of fur/hair around the trap, but no mouse. He is smarter than I am.
Thanks! I'll try that.
I finally got him with this: http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Mouse-Trap-Humane-Mousetrap/dp/B000YFA7HW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310322101&sr=8-1
I am going to get the peppermint extract today.
