Ok ladies, have a quick question on disinfecting the supplies. I talked to my midwife and she stated to make sure I'm disinfecting my bottles and flanges frequently (after I got Mastitis). I have some Medela disinfecting bags that I got from the hospital that I've been using with the rental Medela, however I've since returned it and bought a Hygeia. So tonight I didn't think twice about throwing my Hygeia bottles and flanges in the sanitation bags, however when removing them, I noticed that the one bottle shrunk considerably. I'm also thinking that the flanges are now messed up as they won't screw properly. Am I wrong to assume that all breast feeding supplies can be sanitized in the microwave or is this only a Medela thing? I measured every bag to be sure that 2oz of water went in per the directions, so I'm confused and want to make sure that I'm not going to be throwing away another $45 for replacement parts. FWIW, I checked the Hygeia website and it says nothing about care/sanitiation excepting some bottle of spray that you can buy...but maybe this is the only way you can sanitize the Hygeia products?
