Prayer Update

Thank you for your prayers!

Jimmy has 8 broken bones in his foot. His knee is shattered. There's a "bad spot" on his arm but the doctor wasn't worried about it because he is still able to use it. He's in surgery now where they are working on the foot and knee. Doctor said he'll look at the arm after the foot. Jimmy was laughing with my parents and completely "there" to know what was going on. He said the other drive was in his lane. - He flipped his lights and the driver still didn't react - he slammed on his breaks and aimed for the guard rail making the left front of the car take the majority of the impact.   Praise God Jimmy is fine other than some broken bones!

Re: Prayer Update

  • Indeed it could have been much worse. Glad he will be okay.

Did they get the other driver? Hoping they did -- or that Jimmy or a witness got the plate or at least a partial one.

To my knowledge the other driver is at some other hospital. Both cars were at the scene when my parents got there. We have no idea what's going on with all of that - don't know who he/she was - why they were in Jims lane nothing. Only thing the officer told my dad was that they had to reconstruct the scene because both cars were in their respective lanes at the end of the crash.
  • It sounds like it might be a long, painful recovery.  I am glad things were not worse.  I am wishing him a speedy recovery.

I pray that its a speedy recovery too. Thank you.

I just learned that the driver that hit him died at the scene. Please pray for his/her family.

    Oh, how sad.

It sounds like your brother was actually really lucky to have relatively minor injuries. I hope the surgeries go well...

    Thank you all!

News keeps pouring in. The truth among them is unclear. We keep hearing that the other guy was driving drunk because Taco Bell doesn't deliver????  Police report should come out on Wednesday so we will find out if he was drinking and driving or if he just fell asleep at the wheel.  We have discovered the name of the other driver and have learned that Jimmy graduated with him.  He has a broken shoulder and collar bone. Second surgery is Wednesday. The foot has been saved completely - Praise God. The knee however has a very long road ahead.

You are all right. Jimmy is very lucky and we are very blessed to have him in our lives and we are also very blessed that the injuries he has sustained hurt - but aren't life threatening.  Now its time to heal. Thank you all so much for your prayers.
