My pacemaker creeps me out!

Today I mentioned how it has been becoming more prominent under my skin and they said it is because I am losing weight. On a good day anymore I am the only one that notices it, but some days you can see the full outline of the device. To the touch you can feel the whole thing. So, in the last 4 months I have lost close to 15lbs and I am not done losing, but they told me if I lose more weight that the device will protrude. That isn't a bad thing medically speaking, but CREEPY! It took me a while to come to terms with a foreign object in my body to begin with, I do not want to see it! That is creepy, right? Or am I just weird? I kinda want to get chubbier again to hide it...

    I'd stop losing weight because I wouldn't want to see it! It would be quite odd.

    I'm a little numb to seeing them because of my work. I wouldn't think twice if I could see it. What grosses me out is being able to feel metal in a person's body. I have a patient right now that trashed her wrist. I can feel the metal plate and pins in it. She thinks it's hilarious that it grosses me out!

    I have a niece and nephew both with them so I guess I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me.  My niece got hers as a baby so I've never known a time where we couldn't see it.  My nephew got his at 18 so it took a bit to get used to it, but now its just normal.  He actually jokes about hit helping him pick up chicks----not that you will be doing that! :-)

    My mama is a tiny woman and her pacemaker is clearly visible. It kind of freaked me out at first, but now I'm used to seeing it on her.
