DH is working a double shift at the fire station this weekend. And is working overtime Saturday. I sent him a long text saying how much I loved him and how much au appreciate every single thing he does and that every single thing he does makes me love him more every single day. I'll I got back was love you too. And this is after I have brought him lunch and made cake balls and brought then to all the guys at the fire station. It kinda hurt. Does your DH do stuff like this?
Re: Does your DH do this?
I agree! DH does this all the time and I do it to him. He'll send me messages like that and my first response is where did that come from? Normally I say the same thing, "I love you too babe!" Mostly due to the fact I don't know what to say back and saying the same things he just said back to me seems wierd.

It goes both ways for us, too. I do it to him when I am too busy to think of something creative to write back. I wouldn't worry about it. You are a good wifey!
"...And he just came out of my imaginary birthday cake." -its apelila
He shouldn't be taking that out on you. Can you mention to him the way that he is making you feel when he is the one doing it to himself?

not to hijack the thread but what city does your DH work in? My DH took the written test for Irving on Saturday. He said there were over 300 people there for 2 positions. Any suggestions/ideas for how he can stand out or where to apply? He's not a veteran or EMT certified, but if he needs to be certified he said he'd do it.
any suggestions would be great!
He is in Corsicana. Corsicana seems to be a revolving door lately. Its an easier department to get on. I think they have or are about to have 2 openings. But if you are near Irving, that is quite a drive, but several guys do it. I would HIGHLY suggest he become a paramedic (which is above an EMT) EMT will also definately help, but paramedic is key. Several departments are now going to requiring people to be paramedics or EMT's before they can even test. I think even over being a firefighter. Just simply because there are more medical calls then fire calls now. DH teaches some paramedic courses at Navarro College in Waxahachie, some of the skills courses.
My DH tested for Arlington. 300 ish people too for 5 positions. That's crazy it's so hard to get on!

Oh I have! He says I know. But still, suck it bucko! right?
He also comes from a momma who gave him EVERYTHING he wanted. So, yea....he still thinks he can get everything he wants and throws a little fit like a spoiled little kid. That sounds like the way it was when my ex-FI was trying to get a job as a cop. So many people trying to be one. He applied to a TON of departments before finally getting hired. And, he had to put himself through the night academy before someone finally hired him.
Do you know if DH has to be either EMT or paramedic certified to test in Corsicana?
I think they are going to or have gone to "paramedic perferred" Where they will get extra points for already being a paramedic. I think that is what I meant early. It works kinda like a veteran's preferrece. And they do have to be fire certified and EMT certified:
