Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • Kennedy's surgery went amazing.  We were supposed to go home yesterday or today, but they had some major screw ups, and now they're holding us here for 5 more days to "switch her meds to oral."  I think it's a bunch of BS, since they had gone over our discharge stuff on Friday and made us fill prescriptions because all we were waiting for was her lungs to clear up.  Well that's happened now.  I'll be talking to the ARNP who was planning to discharge us today, as well as our cardiologist.  Kennedy is back to her old self with even more energy and she's bored to tears.  Anyway - way too much to write about the surgery, but you can see the updates in the blog, as well of lots of pictures.

So glad to hear she's doing well!  I hope you're able to convince them to send you home sooner.  Good luck!!

  • Someone stick a fork in me please!

I am doing as well as can be expected.  Had the fabulous Junie do some maternity pics for me, and have been working on the nursery a bit more finally.  There's a few more tidbits in my blog.  Here's a pic of what the nursery looks like as of now:

    image

I also had my 35 week appt. last Thursday.  Jax is measuring at 6 pounds and everything else is looking perfectly on track.  He was practicing breathing during the entire growth scan which pleased the doc.   I have my next weekly appointment tomorrow already.  Can't wait for my little dude to be here so I can be done being pregnant forever.

The maternity pictures came out awesome and the nursery is really fun!

  • Yesterday was a bad day.  I had cramps in my upper abdomen (I'm 15 weeks).  It started as soon as I woke up and was every few minutes.  By the end of the day it tapered off to about once an hour.  The only thing that made it feel OK was holding the belly and putting a little pressure on it with my hands.   I had plans to go to the beach and I couldn't really bail, so I still went, but I couldn't eat a bite when we had lunch and was only comfy laying in our chairs (which were comfy and AWESOME... cousin was staying at the Don Cesar, I want to live there) I am thinking I was dehydrated because I worked 5pm-2am Friday and Saturday and our AC wasn't working properly and it was busy and I had no time to drink.  Before bed last night I drank 4 pints of water and another 2 this morning, and I slept on my left side with my knee on a pillow, and today I woke up feeling better.   I was going to call my Dr today but I will hold off unless I get another cramp.  And I'm not going to do 2 closes in a row at work anymore.  Man I am really going to miss the money but it's almost time.

  • I think morning sickness is easing up!!  I still have it a touch, but it's been much better in the past 3-4 days.  Now the headaches and dizziness are setting in, but so it goes.

I can't believe I'm almost through the 1st trimester!  We get to go back to the doctor next Monday for another (free!) ultrasound and my sister is coming too this time, so that should be awesome.  And, I found out yesterday that my uncle is keeping all of his baby girl's stuff, so if we're having a girl, he'll send everything to us.  I'm hoping girl anyway, but now I'd really like a girl, because we need all the free we can get!

  • Sara- please call anytime you have cramps... rather be safe than sorry. Sending lots of vibes you are feeling better.

I am doing great besides the itching and swelling. 2 weeks after having blood work done I find out I am anemic- picked up my iron scrip today. I will find out more tomorrow at my appointment ( I was advised it was crucial that I keep it... lets hope there isn't any additional news that comes.) I have also self diagnosed PUPPP as being the source of my itching all over my stomach and this UGLY baby acne all over my belly. Pregnancy really does some weird things to you.
