So, we got the call on Saturday that our furniture is in for the baby's room! That meant we had to kick the room clearing into high gear!
For reference, this room will become the nursery:
We are not painting or changing the rug, but we found these drapes at IKEA:
I got one set, so we'll do one panel for each window. Then we got a duvet cover with the same pattern and a family friend will make us a crib skirt out of it. We are going with an owl theme, so accessories will have owls and other creatures. I'm really excited.
This is the crib we got:
I think it is all finally coming together!
Oh, and here's the lamp we picked out!
Re: AW: Nursery progress (ETA another PIP)
Oh I love it! I can't wait to see more pictures!
(PS this is NOT helping my urge to start nesting!
I am trying to hold off until my shower next month.)
I was the same way!! And like Jules I wanted to wait until after my shower, but everytime we bought or received something before then I really wanted a place to put it.
Claire, all the pieces are so cute. I can't wait to see the finished product.
2012 Reading Challenge
This is the hardest part! We have received so many gifts and I have loads of clothes from my sister that I want to get moving and put it all somewhere!
My Bio
I'm going up to VT to see my BFF this weekend though and she has a box of stuff for me - her 1st daughter was born in Jan and her 2nd was born in June so all of her first daughter's newborn/infant stuff really won't be used for the new baby and they're not planning on more. So she said she saved me all the best stuff. Now I can bring it home and put it away since our dressers will be in!
Also, my mom dug my old bassinet out of the attic and cleaned it up - she is charged with finding a new mattress for it (since it still has the original one that she and her mom slept on, and me...and all my dolls used it too). DH was worried it was old and rickety but my mom insists it is better-made than those in the stores as it has a solid wood bottom, not particle board. She also put the dog in it for a while to see if it would hold (he is about 40lbs) and it worked out. hah! Our family friend will make me a new lining and some sheets to go in it and that will go in our bedroom in the beginning.
My shower is at the end of August, so I feel like that gives me enough time to nest and get settled after that :-)

I love, love, love the lamp. For some reason I am drawn to things with owls for a future nursery of ours.
