Good Morning!

Holy balls it's hot.  Neither Derek nor I slept well at all last night.  I think I might have finally convinced him that we need to put in the window a/c unit.  It's supposed to be even hotter today (39?C/103?F w/ the humidity!) and I'd really like a good nights sleep.

This weekend was all about tile.  We got a good 8 rows of tile laid w/ about 3.5 bags of thinset.  Parts of it were slow going, but parts just flew.  The tiles are 12"x24", so it goes down pretty fast.  Hopefully we can polish off a good chunk of what's left this week.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Good Morning!

  • Raynes- Yikes!  We've had the a/c in since May  because I am a wimp at sleeping in the heat.

My weekend was great!  I went up to visit my best friend on Saturday.  We went to check on her barn, then went to the beach.  Then I convinced her to do a 2 mile run with  me on the bike path--she is NOT a fan of running, but she was a trooper.  I also bought new running shoes!

Saturday night we went out for Mexican and margaritas, went in her hot tub, and then  sorted through a box of her stuff from high school, which was hysterical--lots of fun memories!

Yesterday I finished the work the week for my geography class, Ed and I walked to a local bar for dinner, and I got in a short run.

Today is going to be hot, so it looks like I will be hitting the treadmill as it should be 90 by 10 this morning.  Ick.

  • Temps are reasonable here today, by London standards.  A/C is a foreign concept in homes here, so luckily it doesn't really get hot enough to need them too often!

Yesterday was somewhat productive after getting back from holiday on Saturday.  Unpacked, tidied up, got groceries, got caught up on news, and got a haircut.  Now back to work today.  Boo.  And to start off the morning, I had to go to the doctor for some blood tests.  Not the way I usually like to start my week.

  • Good Morning! We also had a great weekend. Friday night we watched a movie. Saturday we spent the day at the beach, then had gyros for dinner on the boardwalk. Yesterday I spent 3 hours cleaning the house, and then we met up with some old friends for dinner. They have a 15 month old daughter, who is adorable. Plus I was able to get some advice/information from them regarding TTC and pregnancy.

Today I have a full day of tutoring, then a softball game. Afterwards, we will probably go out for drinks with our team.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • I'm also a baby when it comes to heat, so we've had AC in for quite some time as well. I actually use the ceiling fan and the AC in our bedroom at night. It's freezing in there and I love it.

This weekend was a lot of lounging. We did finally get the flooring done in the nursery, so now it's just trim and putting things where they need to go. We found a crack starting in the dresser top, so that has to go back to the store to be replaced. I'm not thrilled. I think the last one took 16 weeks or so to come in.

My furbaby decided she didn't want to eat all weekend, so now I'm waiting to hear from the vet on what to do next. She might have to go in for fluids to put some weight on her. With all her meds, she really needs some food in her belly. I keep thinking it's a self-imposed diet, since her brothers are so thin. So frustrated with all of this stuff at this point.

  • Morning ladies.

Saturday DH and I had a sitter and we went a surprise 60th birthday party for a neighbor.  I had blast.  I Haven't danced like that in a long time.

Sunday DH and picked the boys up from their Nana's, and he went to bed. I went to the beach with some friends and all their kids.  All I can say is I hope that someday I can bring the boys to the beach on my own, as I never would have been able to do that without the help of the friends.  Anyhow of course I sunblocked the hell out of the boys, but me not so much.  Today I look like a spotty lobster. Ugh.

This week is a crazy one for me - 5 days until I'm on vacation!  I have to finish ordering everything for the birthday party Sunday, and get our house clean.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • Guten Morgen!

Today I'm off to see my therapist, and S will be alone with Myles for a whole 1.5hrs. He's a little nervous about it, but I know he can handle it.

We have some errands to run, and then I think we're just going to hang out here for the first time since we've been home. This weekend we had our family pictures taken, and we had our nephew's 1st bday party. Honestly I'm just exhausted and want a day to do nothing but watch movies and snuggle and as it's pouring rain outside right now it seems like a perfect day to do that.

  • Good morning. We had a busy weekend of shopping for stuff for the house and more unpacking and organizing. I'm so tired sinceI didn't rest at all this weekend. Today will be work and grocery shopping after. Nothing exciting. Have a good day ladies!

  • Good morning, ladies.

We don't have A/C at all.  Just ceiling fans.  Fortunately it doesn't get over 90* very often - when it does we spend more time in the basement, where it's always 10* cooler.

Lots of work to do before we go camping this weekend.  At least that makes the day go by faster.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Good morning!

I'm with you on the a/c. We installed ours yesterday because of the heat. With the help of a strategically placed stand fan shooting air down the hall, it pretty much cools off the entire apartment.

I'm not going to class today; my stomach was bothering me all night so I got 3 hours of sleep (probably up to 5 by the time I slept in).

We're making my favourite tofu burgers for dinner tonight (yay for vegan Mondays and the Bachelorette!), and I'm hoping my stomach clears up enough for me to enjoy them.

  • It is hot here as well. I think the heat index is supposed to reach 110 today. Needless to say I will be spending as much time as possible indoors.

My weekend was good. We took it easy on Friday night since we had the market Saturday morning. The weather on Saturday was perfect for sitting outside. After the farmer's market we went home and then I went out with a friend. We went to a local vineyard  and sat outside and listened to some live music. Then we went into town were there was a street festival going on, also with live music.

Yesterday I spent the day doing all of the laundry (so that Kyle would have clean clothes to pack since he's working oot again this week) and cleaning the house. We grilled out for dinner and enjoyed our last evening together until Friday.

  • Good morning!

I had a great weekend with friends and great food.

Saturday I took Dh to a huge antique market to browse around and look for a cool vintage coffee table. He was surprised at everything. I grew up hunting for antique furniture so I enjoy the quest. We also hung out with friends and cooked dinner for them. Dh cooked salmon and I made an summer vegetable salad which was a hit.

Sunday- Dh and I walked 8 miles, while doing that hung out with a friend and went and saw Super 8. It was one of the most enjoyable movies I have seen in a long time.

  • raynes - we like to call that stupid hot.

MO - I love the new siggy picture

We had a great weekend.  Saturday, we went to Six Flags and I fed my roller coaster addiction.  I also sun burnt the crap out of my face and I am definitely old enough to know better.

Sunday, Jim got a ton of house work done while I was a church and in the evening we went to the Kennedy Center for the closing performance of Next to Normal.  I really enjoyed it; it was a very powerful story.

Nothing much going on this week.  The boss will only be here today and tomorrow.  That along with being out all week, will make him "Hurricane P." for the next two days.

  • Good morning!

Friday night was awesome! It poured down rain through Uncle Cracker and Grace Potter but the skies cleared when Kenny Chesney took the stage. Red Rocks is such a beautiful venue and has such great acoustics. I haven't had that much fun in a long time!

Saturday we slept until noon. DH went to help his friends on their ranch for a little bit and I just laid around the house nursing my hangover.

Sunday we went to a BBQ our neighbors were hosting. It was pretty interesting, I learned a lot about the people who lived in our house before us and a lot about our neighbors (including that one of them has multiple wives Surprise)

  • Good morning!

I am staying safely indoors today with the A/C! Not really sure what to do with myself though... cleaning and laundry, and snuggle with Sherlock, I guess? V is home today too; our boss is out of the office until Thursday so he figured he may as well stay home with me in case I need to go to the hospital.

  • Morning everyone!  I, too, had a great weekend, and today it is definitely "stupid hot".  Thanks Reba.  We already had a nasty thunder storm this morning, which delayed my getting to work a bit.  But that's ok.

Friday, I caught up with a friend for dinner and drinks.  Saturday morning, B and I cleaned out our den and garage to get ready for the workmen starting this weekend.  Then we packed up the dog and the car and headed to my aunt's house in Michigan.  We had a blast sitting by the pool, relaxing, drinking margaritas and playing board games.

Work should be ok today.  I have some small things to cartch up on, but I definitely am looking forward to a relaxing evening tonight and some catching up on tv.

  • Good Morning! We had a good weekend.

Friday, we had dinner with SIL and our nieces.

Saturday, we had a picnic for some of DH's employees/clients which was fun and then had a movie night at home.

Sunday, we had breakfast with SIL and her boyfriend. Then it was the typical Sunday routine. DH worked in the yard all day, I cleaned house and did a ton of laundry. I am a little bummed we didn't get anything done in the nursery again. I am starting to think we will never get it done and it is stressing me out!

Have a great Monday and week ladies!

I'm so glad the concert was great.  I got super excited about your post because I've known Grace since we were 5 (we grew up together) and  it is so cool that she is now actually  known by people.  (I didn't realize she was opening for him...)  Who would have known when she was dancing around in her mud boots, tutu , and giant glasses in first grade that she would actually make in music?

According to another neighbor of ours he has 3 wives. They all live in different houses within our subdivision but apparently they all get along and hang out. The guy takes turns staying over at each house. I'm not sure how many kids he has with his other two wives, but the one next to me has 5 kids!

  • Bailey - I'm jealous you got to see my future husband in concert :)

It was gorgeous here this weekend, but DH and I spent most of the weekend cleaning the house and finally putting up the artwork.

My step-daughter got here last night, so we had to deal with some initial  "I miss my mom and brothers" stuff. Hopefully that doesn't last long.

Tonight's plan includes making individual grilled pizzas and walking down to see if we can see the seals.

Not really...I saw her parents a few weeks ago and caught up with them, but I haven't seen her in the last couple of years--she's too busy traveling!

Wow. That's a lot of... erm... balancing he must have to do.

  • My weekend was pretty packed.

Saturday I tried for a long run outside (10 miles) but because it was stupid hot, I only got 6.25 in outside and then went to the gym to run the rest.  I only managed 2 more miles, though.  It was awesome that I did negative splits on my outdoor run, though.  After that I went to my friends for some pool time, then to church, out to dinner, to the Fun Fest and then downtown to a bar.

Sunday was my friends bridal shower so that took up most of the day.  I had SO much to eat and CD1 is right around the corner so today I feel like a fat slob.  I did get a run in last night but I feel disgusting.

DH is gone up to Ottawa for a week so I'm home all by myself.

  • Evening, all! Late to the party because it was my first day and I didn't want to be caught nesting right away, haha. ;)

Weekend was good--just the usual, relaxing and running errands and hitting the gym and what not. Prepping for the first day, which was great--my new boss and team took me out to lunch at my favorite restaurant, unexpected but nice! I have a lot to learn but I'm really eager to learn it. Everyone seems pretty happy there and the work is super meaningful. I'm glad I've transitioned to something like this.

Hope everyone has a great night. Stay cool!
