PSA - your child's information in case of car accident

My sister and BIL have recently hired a nanny in anticipation of their twins arrival next month. This woman requested that they write their childrens' names,  pediatrician number, and emergency contacts in addition to the parents' names/numbers on a sticker and place it on the carseats.

In case you, or anyone driving, is in an accident and your child is in the car, and the driver is not responsive or unable to communicate clearly, emergency personnel will have your child's information easily.

We'll be making our stickers this week. This is so smart, and not something we ever thought about.

    Wow! Wonderful Idea!

    Totally doing this myself.

  • Great idea!

I have had Jack's personal info with our insurance and Dr.'s names in his diaper bag since birth practically  His diaper bag is always with him so if he is at a grandparents or sitter's everything is in there. Also with permission for them to give the Dr. permission heaven forbid.  I downloaded forms for this.

  • great idea---- definitely doing that asap!

Enjoying parenthood after 3 1/2 long years of trying...
  • I'm definitely going to do this.  I also have in both mine and DH's wallet a child's ID card that I got done free one day when I was at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.  There was a table set up and they were doing them for free.  It has Anthony's picture, fingerprint, name, DOB, hair color, eye color, height, weight, genger, my name and number.  Just in case god forbid he's ever lost somewhere I can grab this and show it to police and they have everything they need to go off of.

If you ever seen this set up I highly recommend doing it.  You can probably call your local police department too and they may do it for you also.

  • My kid is just in a booster now but I think I'll be sure to put this info in the thing with my license and registration. Awesome.
  • Duh!  Why didn't I think of this?  Taking care of it today.  I'm going to put a copy in with my insurance info and another in the storage pocket in his carseat.
