We had a NorCal GTG on the East Coast :)
andrea3122 and I, along with our DHs, met for dim sum yesterday. It was so much fun! And, it turns out, Mr. 3122 and I have a friend in common from high school days--small world!
Andrea, it was so nice to finally meet you and I hope we can do it again in Boston or NYC sometime!
Who else wants to come to Boston and meet me?
All the cool kids are doing it (including hannikan who will be here later this summer and tilden and her DH have come out with us twice).
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: We had a NorCal GTG on the East Coast :)
We had a blast too! You and your DH are so fabulous. And the dim sum (first time I've ever had it!) was delicious. We will have the leftovers for dinner tonight.
We'll definitely have to do it again!
That would be awesome! It's a great city to visit and I pick great GTG restaurants if I do say so myself
Hahaha!
Next time you're in Beantown, just let me know!
I can't remember what they were called but I'm dreaming about the little dumplings that came in the metal tin. Those were fantastic.
You have excellent taste as those are the classic Chinese/Taiwanese dumplings known as siu long bao (or xiao long bao in Mandarin). Otherwise known as soup dumplings in English.
The ones you had weren't even the best available in the city. Their wrappers are thicker than ideal and they don't have as much soup as other restaurants. Next time if you guys have time to go to Chinatown I can take you to a place with huge ones with paper-thin wrappers and tons of soup in them.
Dang, now I want to go get some for lunch
You certainly do!! I don't know when we'll be back east again since my parents now live in Santa Rosa, but I don't think I can be away from New England for too long, and DH should have another eye appointment sometime next summer anyway. Dim sum would be fun!
They do? I didn't know they were going to move. That's great; I'm sure it makes things easier for you to keep tabs on your mom and her health.
Glad you'll still be headed out this way once a year though, and I hope R's appointments continue to go well.

Sounds good!
