Daycare ?s

Holy h3ll, I'm headed back to work next week :(:(:( It really hit me today

If you do in home dc, are there things that you leave there & replace as needed? Extra outfits, blankets, pacifier, bottles etc....or do you pack a bag for daycare every day? We are cd'ing, so I will leave a pack of disposable wipes (her choice) and send dipes & a wet bag every morning. If you do this, how many dipes do you send? & do you toss the dirty wet bag in your diaper pail?

What information do you provide them...likes/dislikes, emergency contact, MD contact info? I know I am over thinking some of this stuff!

Thanks!

Re: Daycare ?s

  • All of the personal info, MD stuff, emergency contacts was all the paperwork she gave us from the state.

We take a bag every day with clothes and CD's but she keeps his cups there.  He also has a swim diaper, towel, swimsuit, sunscreen, and extra sandals that we keep there.  In your case I'd ask her what she would like you to leave for an infant.  If she has room I bet she'd like extra blankets, clothes, pacis.

We send 6 diapers a day but the most he ever uses is 4 (usually it's 3) but he's also 2 and starting PTing.

  • If she is licensed, she should have paper work for you to fill out for the state and I think that included proof of vacinations and stuff like that.

Emergency contact #: you, DH, works, cells, parents, etc.

I had to provide diapers, bottles, formula.  She had some paci's, but neither of my boys were big fans of them, so they had maybe one there.

She provided wipes, and she had tons of extra clothes around for the boys from all the kids in the past she watched, so if they ever had an accident, she had extra clothes for them, but this was when they were a bit older/potty training age, I can't remember when they were little bitty, so you'll probably have to check with her on that as well as toys/blankets/etc she may want you to provide.

I'd maybe throw in a few Disposable diapers Just in case of major poop days!  :)

  • Awww, good luck!

On top of what everyone else mentioned, for my tiny babies I would bring a lovey/blanket from home.  Even though they're little and not into lovey's, just something that smells like you or home to ease the transition.

Outside of that, your dcp should tell you what she would like you to bring to supplement what she might have.

    thanks to jennied :)

  • Thanks ladies. She does have paperwork for us....that takes care of that part.

I like the lovey idea Teresa, we use one in his carseat, so I will send that.

For those that pumped, did you thaw & fill bottles for the day or just send enough oz still frozen? And how did you label everything? I got the inchbug labels for bottles, but did you mark the tags of blankets & clothes? Again, probably overthinking this!

  • We took (take) 2 outfits in case of accidents, but you may want to take 3 or more with an infant; socks; blanket; pacifiers; bottles; formula or breast milk; tylenol; and any other toiletries like a brush for hair, milicon, etc.  We left this stuff there and replaced as she grew.

I sent packs of diapers at a time and would also bring a back of wipes, but daycare provider also had wipes that she would buy.

All our info- cell, work numbers, e-mail address, etc.

    Good luck next week!

  • We always leave a binky, 2 bottles, formula/BM, snacks (when on puffs, etc.), baby food or cereal, 1 outfit, diapers and wipes.  The only thing that came and went with us is blankets (or CD/wetbags when we were doing that).
