Would it be totally weird and selfish of me if I...

Took one of the 9 days we are spending FL in December (4 @ Disney, 5 at my brother's house) and went to Universal to see the HP exhibit by myself?

My mom would not be interested and wouldn't want to spend the money.  If I just took Maddie I couldn't ride most of the rides. My nephew will be in school (I was hoping to kidnap him and go together but that is too close to the end of the term year) and my bro and SIL will be at work on some of those days.

My mom could stay home with the 2 girls (M and my 2 year old Neice)...

Is that totally weird and strange to consider (from the family perspective... I imagine there are some who flat out wouldn't go to an amusement park alone either)?

I don't need to do the whole park.  But I don't want to be that close and not go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

  • Hmph....  negative points for even having to think about it.  Single people always get to the first of every line since they want to fill seats etc.  You have someone to watch Maddie and you'll already be there.

I'd go by myself twice Big Smile

  • Not selfish at all! You atleast thought about other people before making your decision to go alone.

I agree. And when we went it was incredibly packed (so much so that they shut it down for a few hours) so I wouldn't want to drag someone else through that.

    Hitched, when did you go?

I'm thinking that the first full week of December shouldn't be tooooo crazy because most kids will still be in school.

I'm so excited - my bro is taking my nephew this summer and said it totally makes sense for me to steal off and go.  Harry Potter, here I come!

  • Not weird at all. It's OK to be selfish every once in a while. It helps you remember that, ultimately, you have to take care of your wants and needs to be able to take care if others.

This. I have a hard time being selfish and doing things for myself, but this is great advice!
