first time using Plontzie's...

Let's see how well the cat does.  I feel so bad I haven't been giving her a lot of attention since probably a third of the way through my pregnancy (too hard for me to get down on the floor and brush her)!

  • Hope it goes well for you. My pups have been a bit neglected in the grooming dept since Ella came along. I have been trying to brush Eldick a couple of times a week lately... the poor thing is a shedding machine these days. Zoey is also due for a trim. I am going to wait til her flea stuff gets here though, she will get a trim and a bath and flea stuff all in one day. I am sure she will love me for it...

  • Be thankful your dogs are small!  Dakota sheds so much it's horrible!  DH took her for a bath the other day (there's a car wash down the road on Douglas with a dog wash station inside) and he didn't brush her out again after she dried - I could have killed him!  She would just brush up against my leg and I'd have my own coat of dog hair!  He is finally brushing her every mornign and so much better!

Butting in... if you are using topical flea preventive like Frontline, wait until 2 days after a bath to apply it.  It uses the oil glands in the skin to absorb and spread around the body, and a bath washes all that natural oil away so the flea preventive will just sit on her and not absorb correctly until a couple days later.  By then she's rubbed it off on you and your furniture!

Thanks! I usually try to was her right before cause she can't have a bath for a while after and she is one smelly mutt. Maybe we will do a shave and bath tomorrow... if it doesn't rain.  We hang out on the deck to buzz her so I don't have to clean all the fur out of the house.
