woo hoo! (job related)

As you may or may not remember, I found out I was KU right before I interviewed for my current job.  I accepted the job and am currently a contract employee.  So basically they can get rid of me whenever they want, should they so choose.  I was nervous about approaching the subject of maternity leave (even knowing no matter how much time I took would be unpaid).

Well I just emailed my boss to see what, if anything, needed to be done to prepare for my absence and let him know how long I was planning on taking (3 mos/12 weeks).  I sort of held my breath after I sent the email.  He replied almost immediately and said that they'd just hire a temp for the interim until my return!  I am so relieved to know that I won't have to job hunt during my maternity leave.  I'm not sure if I will be a permanent employee (I hope so), but considering the (still crappy) unemployment rate, I am so happy!
