My poor baby....and a sore peen ?
S' penis is all red and it looks like there's a spot on his balls that's cracked (think very dry hands type of crack). I feel so bad for hima s he's been crying off and on todayand I saw it was red earlier but didn't think it was that bad. But this time when I went to change his diaper I saw a little spot of blood. Looks like from the crack. Anyone else seen this? What causes it? Any advice? We are letting him air out and that seems to help then gonna lather him up in cream.

I don't know that I'm much help, but DH loves the word "peen". Like, he uses it as often as possible. Cracks me up.
Anyway, clean and dry are probably a great first step. Something sitting in moisture all day probably shouldn't end up dry, so you may want to call if it doesn't improve in a day or so.
Poor peanut. Get well soon.
Sounds like yeast. Put some clotrimazole cream on it twice a day - it should feel better right away. Poor kid!
ETA: but is the redness ONLY on his peen? Usually w/yeast the whole area will be red/look irritated... and yeah both of my kids have had areas that crack and/or bleed. It HURTS.
Do you use cloth diapers?
Do a strip of the diapers-it might help.
