flying w/ Audrey..

Do we just need her birth certificate?  And we just show it at the counter like we would w/ our ID's?  Anything else?

We've got a portable DVD player, coloring books, stickers, etc. to entertain her on the plane.  What about snacks.. can I put anything in my carry on's, or do they still not allow that?

Re: flying w/ Audrey..

  • You can even take a copy of her last immunizations if you dont want to travel with her birth certificate.  And yes packs lots of snacks.  And a sippy cup for take off and landing...will help with the ear pressure.

  • We packed lots of snacks (dry ones, so at her age they were puffs and stuff) and they went through just fine.  The milk we brought was also fine, they just had to test it for explosives.  lol.

  • I took a copy of the birth certificate.  They didn't even check it.
  • If she's over 2 and you bought her a seat, they don't even check the birth cert (at least Southwest didn't for us).  I was surprised, but I'd bring it anyway.

Snacks are fine.  I brought in an empty water bottle to fill once I got through security and brought a sippy for my kids.  I also brought suckers and gum (if she's into that) for a snap I need you to stop throwing that tantrum right now prize.

  • My other mental lifesaver was a ziploc specifically for trash.  Maybe everyone else thinks of these things, but it was a god send with the amount of used wet wipes and dropped suckers/snacks with no place to dispose of them.  I hate that!  Yes I have OCD and sticky/ucky shiit drives me nuts.
