Bleach Designs on T-Shirt
I want to make t-shirts for my sister and myself to wear to see Harry Potter on Friday night. I purchased 2 new 100% cotton shirts and washed and dried them. Then I put the design that I wanted on them using a brand new bleach pen. One tutorial that I read online said a new shirt could take up to 2 hours for the bleach to work...well I let it sit for 2 hours and nothing happened! I rinsed the bleach off, washed and dried the shirts and they still look brand new! What am I doing wrong?

Some shirts are pretty colorfast and bleach might not affect the dye. The cheaper the shirt, the better
Bleach pens are diluted and straight bleach works MUCH better (trust me, I have first hand experience).

I was planning on trying again with straight bleach tonight but thought I would post this just in case I was doing something wrong yesterday. Thanks so much for your help!
