What do you do with gifts that you don't like or have no use for? Do you throw them away or donate them?
Re: Random Poll: Bad gifts
Currently Reading: Don Quixote by Miguel De Cervantes
I've never thrown a bad gift away or regifted it.
It usually finds a place in storage in the basement.
Crap...I Mean Crafts
Thanks. We get a ton of stupid schit from my in-laws every year when they travel. Things such as a wooden mystery box from Costa Rica or an ugly handmade purse from Italy.
I have enough schit. I don't need more schit cluttering up my condo, thank you so much.
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
None of this stuff is objectionable, it's just junk that I don't want lying around my house.
And the stuff that this woman picks out... sometimes I wonder if she's ever met me. What, in the 4 years that we've known each other, would ever make you think that I'm into beaded butterfly necklaces from Hawaii?!
I think my 18 year old cousin might like it, however.
They get tossed in a closet for a few years until I feel safe the person forgot about it, then I give it to someone as a gift.
For instance, I got a Thomas Kinkaid music box a few years ago and it's been sitting in my bedroom at my mom's since. It's being regifted this year.
Return if possible, give away if someone I know wants it. Otherwise I donate or use for a white elephant.
I currently have an Ettiene Aigner purse from my birthday that I might try and sell on craigslist because it kills me to give it away.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Yoshi, you're sending that music box to my mom, right?
We have a running joke in the family about Thomas Kincade. I wish someone would buy me his stuff - I'd have gag gifts for years!
LOL bmom you don't like THE PAINTER OF LIGHT?!!?!?!
There's a "christian store" (it's in quotes because it's more like spray painted gold crosses with giant aplique roses wrapped on top for $20) in this meximall around here and it looks like TK splooged all over the store.
