It's HOT

Our central air decided to crap out on Friday night, it's SO Freaking hot. We stayed here Saturday night, just went to Target and bought a gazillion fans, and then sent Kiley and the pug to my parents and then we went up yesterday after the Phillies Game.

We came home today because they are suppose to fix it, but it's already 80+ degrees in the house and suppose to be 93 and super humid today. They better come SOON!

I'm really getting annoyed by people telling me that people didn't have it 100 years ago, so deal with it, but honestly we are people who are used to a/c.  I'm sure if we didn't have it, it wouldn't seem so bad.

Re: It's HOT

  • I would be dying. I told Nick if it happens to us we're trucking it over to my parents for sure!

I agree with you, we have AC now and are used to it - whole different situation to those who dealt with it before having AC.

  • OMG, it's brutal here.  The humidity is 80% and it was already 80* when I took the dog out at 6:00am.  I was seriously sweating when I came inside.

    No air would be horrible!

  • Tell those people to get lost. LOL

Do you have a basement to cool off in? It is like a sauna up here today I could not imagine going without air right now but we are lucky with two sunken levels so probably would be able to deal.

  • I'm usually good with just fans to keep the air moving - that's how I grew up; a/c was reserved for extremely hot and humid days becase we couldn't afford the electric bill to keep it running all summer.  Plus, I like the heat.  When DH was deployed last summer I kept the house between 78 and 82 all summer.  I was comfortable and really only turned the a/c on when it was extremely humid out.

Hope you get yours fixed today.  I will say that once little Cody arrives I will probably keep the a/c on a lot more and maintain the 73-degrees we keep the house at with DH home.

  • We are in the basement, with fans blowing on us, but it's just too stinking hot out! I feel bad mostly for puggie she can't get comfy at all
  • I would be so uncomfortable. DH would probably have a meltdown. He has our AC on from about early May until late October. I hope they come soon for you!

  • I am sorry! Being hot is the worst which is why I hate summer. We keep our house at 80 during the day which I have gotten used to but most people can not stand.

  • I certainly feel for you Jess. I would be miserable. Normally we keep our house at 76 in the summer but this summer I have been keeping it at 72 for obvious reasons.
