So I'm thinking I may be allergic to my husband's semen. I've heard it's rare, but possible. I get this burning sensation after sex, BUT I only get it when he ejaculates in me, not if he pulls out. Going to a gynecologist soon, but wondered if anyone has dealt with this?! I have heard it can be corrected, but it's expensive because insurance usually won't cover it. Also, he is Type 1 diabetic and has a lot of extra proteins in his body, so that might affect this.
Re: Allergic to semen?
Do an experiment. Have sex, but do not have him ejaculate in you. How do you feel? Are you still feeling the burning sensation? If so, it just might be from the friction of sex rather than a sperm allergy.
If you don't feel the burn, try having sex with a condom. Any discomfort?
Are you using lubricant? Any sort of those pleasure enhancing gels?
Also, visit your obgyn. You might have a low level infection that is only being stirred up when you have sex.
I had this experience too until we used coconut oil as a lube. It's a natural anti-fungal as well and has since stopped the burning sensations (even if we don't use it now!).
I would say to try that out. You can find it at most health stores (GNC, Vitamin World, etc.) or even Rite Aid. It's pretty cheap ($11) for a large tub and will liquify once you rub it in between your fingers. A little goes a long way!
