I'm looking at getting a sewing machine but I'm not an avid sewer so I don't really know what to look for in one.
My mom and I are looking to start an etsy store and I want to get one to help do some crafts. I could use my moms but I'd have to be at her house all the time.
So ladies help me pick out my sewing machine! I don't want to spend too much money either but I'm willing to save for one!
TIA!

One thing not mentioned in the faqs is that you can often get a used machine of very good quality for a good price. Check with dealers of quality machines like Bernina, Pfaff, etc. and see what they have.
People upgrade and trade them in, or sometimes sell them on CL, although you do need to check those out well, the prices are sometimes really good. Sometimes people inherit them, and have no idea what great machines they have, and let them go for peanuts.
