my oldest sister is turning 40 this week.
as her bratty younger sister, I feel as though it is my duty to do terrible things to embarrass her about becoming such an old fogey :-)
She works at home, so unfortunately, I can't embarrass her at the office. And she lives all the way out in Leesburg and they have 3 (loud) dogs, so sneaking into her yard and putting up a big fake gravestone announcing her birthday that morning is out.
So far, I am planning to surprise her with a dirt cake that looks like a graveyard and a vase of wilted flowers.
any other good ideas from you creative ladies?
Re: speaking of birthdays
One cute thing I've seen on pinterest is gathering 40 lollipops & having a sign that says "40 sucks"
If the dogs can be kept inside, you could get someone to deliver them for you: http://www.storklanding.com/collections/yard-signs
My mom's best friend did 50 flamingos her 50th birthday. We still talk about it being the funniest thing ever.
okay, that's awesome. do they come put them up first thing in the morning?
and I like the 40 sucks thing with the lollipops, but it's not nearly embarrassing enough ;-)
Yes, they do it some time in the god early hours of the morning. We flamingoed a co-worker for her 30th birthday. It was great. Especially since the co-worker was the sort to be mortified by flamingos.
