This board is really slow these days. So, tell us about your weekend? What did you do? Best part? Worst part?
My weekend was very low key. DH was on call and worked almost the entire weekend. The only thing I did was take my daughter to the airport on Saturday AM. She is going to see her dad for 3 weeks. I miss her so much already.
Best: Watching Army Wives all day Saturday.
Worst: Missing my daughter/taking her to the airport at 5 AM.
Married: October 11, 2008
Re: Weekend?
DH got home from Haiti on Saturday!! It was SO good to see him!! I turned in to a Chatty Cathy because I had only had the dogs to talk to at home while he was gone.
We saw Horrible Bosses on Saturday and it was really funny! I recommend it!
I got a great workout in on Saturday and then pulled/sprayed weeds on the patio so Sunday I was S-O-R-E. It turned in to a pretty lazy day!
I don't really have a worst - it was a great weekend! :-)
I love Army Wives.
We had a graduation party for my cousin on Saturday and someone stole all of her graduation cards.
Yesterday we'd planned on working outside but it was way too hot out so we chilled and went out to dinner.
DH spent basically the whole weekend working on our Cadillac, there were some engine problems plus he went to the local U-Pull-R-Parts and visited all 7-9 Caddy's there and basically pulled everything we needed to fix on ours. He spent $108 on about $2k worth of cosmetic parts and engine parts :-) We should be hitting 220,000 miles with the thing in the next week or so!
Fri had a small bonfire with the neighbors. Sat homework and grill after church on Saturday night. Sunday took the scooter down to my mom's seasonal camper and helped her with some yard work. Sunday night went to Fogo de Chao for restaurant week with some friends, num, but waaaayyy too much food!
We were super lazy on Saturday. Watched movies and put together a jigsaw puzzle because we are old.
Sunday we drove 2 hrs north to scope out a possible wedding location. It was promising but my favorite part was visiting the gas station/bait shop/vhs video rental store on the way. I like a store with good variety.
We're kind of going out.
That is so awful! Do you guys have any idea who would have done it? Was the party in a public place or a home? I'm curious now...
Friday night: dinner at a friend's new house
Saturday: landscaping projects (multiple trips to Home Depot and Bachman's), picnic and riding the streetcar at Lake Harriet, grilled out for dinner, watched Happythankyoumoreplease via Netflix
Sunday: errands and dinner at the 1029 Bar (lobster rolls from the Smack Shack food truck = AMAZING!)
Friday evening we went to a wedding rehearsal and dinner.
Saturday morning I had some events for the Raspberry Festival, then that afternoon/evening was the wedding. Super fun and a gorgeous (but hot) day.
Yesterday was a lazy morning for me while DH went golfing. Then I had another event for the festival and then a bonfire.
My Blog
Friday: We hung out the American Legion. Yep! That's our to favorite place to be.
Saturday: I performed a wedding, and hung out with some friends outside.
Sunday: the Mr. put it on his schedule to help with landscaping. Of course, he decided to help me when it was blazing hot. Oh well, the first phase it nearly complete.
The best part was a lazy Saturday.
The worst part was the heat yesterday while trying to do yard work.
I just bought this over the weekend (on sale at Target!). I played it a while back with a group of friends and we were all in tears laughing. Fun game!
Our weekend was pretty laid back. Friday night we wanted to stay in since DH had to be up early the next morning - so we watched "Never Let me Go" - a strange sci-fi-ish sort of movie. Carrie Mulligan, Keira Knightley, Andrew Garfield. DH was skeptical, but ended up liking it. Interesting movie - I recommend it. Brings up all sorts of moral issues that are interesting to debate.
Saturday, I slept in while DH worked. Loved it! Then I got caught up on some house work and relaxed a bit. Friends came over for dinner (ginger beef stifry - YUM!) and we all ended up drinking a wee bit too much, so they spent the night. We all slept in Sunday, friends left and then DH and I just lazed about. He wasn't feeling well (hangover mostly, but also just feeling icky lately) and I was just plain lazy.
We wanted to go out and do something but between the heat, the icky-feelings,and tiredness - plus the state parks being closed, we decided to just hang out. We ended up watching the Princess Diaries (on the CW - we made fun of it the the whole time!) then watching The Queen and talking about the royal family and politics in England. It is always interesting to get DH's perspective on that stuff.
It was in a home in Brooklyn Park. They think it was a neighbor that just showed up. Bastards.
We went to Chicago for our 5 year anniversary.
Best parts: eating at a couple of the Rick Bayless restaurants. Those are the best meals I've ever had. Now I understand what the judges on cooking shows mean when they say a dish has depth. I also really liked the architecture boat tour. The condo we rented was on the 48th floor overlooking Lake Michigan and downtown - the view was incredible.
Worst part: walking around all day in the heat and humidity. I've never sweat so much in my life.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
