If you have french doors...

Are the outsides painted:

*the same color as the rest of the exterior
*same color as trim
*white
*same color as your front door
*another color?

Ours are painted the same color as the exterior of our house and they don't stand out.  We need to do some painting and I'm thinking of painting them the same color as the front door or white.

Re: If you have french doors...

  • Ours are white and I'm torn between leaving them white and painting them the same color as the exterior.  I don't want them to stand out on the patio to much.
  • My parents have some and they are white while the rest of the house is beige.

Ours are the same color and just kind of blah...  I don't want them to "stand out" but they just don't look right to me...  However, I'm the girl that painted her garage door the same color as the front door and love it.

  • I get that same these don't look right feeling when I see them but then I'm not sure what to do with them.  Maybe once everything is done out there. You know in 10 years.
  • i don't have french doors but i have a mexican door.  it's pink, yellow and aqua.  it was just tooo plain painted the same color as everything else.  i say go nuts, do hat you want ; )
  • Same color as exterior trim.  Different color from front door (stained wood).

Maybe paint in the same color family, but a couple of shades lighter or darker than the exterior?  That way it won't totally blend in, but it won't stand out too much either.
