A little bit of background: My current supervisor and I used to be co-workers in another group when I first started here. She left the group first and came over here, became a supervisor and asked me to work for her. Before I worked for her we were friends - not super close, but did girls' beach trips and happy hours and stuff. Now that I work for her, we're still friendly, but not like before.
She's getting married next weekend. We weren't invited to the wedding, but she invited us to the bar her FI works at for the next day celebration. On a Sunday night. I know etiquette wise it's not really acceptable, but not sure what to do... If it makes a difference, she was invited to our wedding and didn't come, but still got us a small gift.
WWYD?
Please don't quote me, I may DD the OP later.
Re: Would you go/give a gift?
I wouldn't go but I'd probably do a small gift in the equal amount of what she gave to me.
However, her etiquette is lame.
