(I posted this over on the bump because I am mainly looking for fun kids activities to do while we are there, but I know a lot of you ladies over here are knowledgeable about OC too...... )
Well, I was all depressed that a vacation wasn't in the cards for us this year, but we found out last night our friend's parents will let us rent their condo in OC for an awesome price for Labor Day weekend, so I am really excited now that at least we are going somewhere. For you ladies who are OC experts (I really don't go all that much), what will be some good things for us to do? I will be 31 weeks pregnant with a 2 year old, and don't really remember all the kid activities that they have. We are staying right around 73rd street somewhere. Also-restaurant recs are good too!
Thanks!!
Re: XP: Need some OC help!
Not sure about being pregnant/with a kid, but the Sun posted this article a while ago with the 100 Best Beach Eats (includes Rehobeth etc) so could be worth checking out for ideas!
I think I'm in the minority here but I love Ocean City!! You guys are going to have so much fun (because I said so!!). Sean will love the water and the boardwalk--those two things are a must. The rides at Trimpers (the end of the boardwalk) are perfect for little ones. My favorite breakfast spot is the Sahara Cafe--it's on like 21st street--SO delicious. If you love creamed chipped beef, this is the place to get it.
Jolly Rogers is also a fun place to go for little ones. If you don't mind the 40 or so minute drive, the rides at Rehobeth at way cheaper than OC and are so nice. We went up there one night and really liked it. We got pizza at a place that I can't remember right now (someone please chime in!) that was recommended and it was great--it wasn't Grotto.
Dumser's Dairyland is a must for ice cream--their brownie sundaes are awesome. They have a "drive-in" (not really a drive in though) near Seacrets that has pretty good food and is good for kids. Not fancy, but laid back.
Man I wish we could go back again this year
I'm so happy that both the kids love it as much as me. The only downside is it's so expensive which is stinky.
Thanks for this! I did not even realize Rehobeth had rides!

I have nieces so I can reccomend some restaurants we all like
BJ's north-79th?
Tequila Mockingbird-130th?
JR's--60th? a bit pricey
Bull on the Beach-94th food is so freakin good and cheap
2nd Dead Freddies, around 66th? very kid friendly
65th street slide and ride is fun but the jolly roger is pretty dangerous as the do not keep up with the rides safety...trimper on the boardwalk is okay.
Carousel hotel has ice skating shows and from time to time there are movies on the beach
Yes! They have a really big one on the Pier and a smaller one in the back where Trimpers rides are. They have a train in the back too which I bet he would love--it was Ava's favorite.
We were just there at the end of June and I'm also in the minority because I always enjoy an OC visit, probably from being a Salisbury grad. Dead Freddie's was overpriced and over-rated in my opinion. We had a bad experience when we went there. LOVE Bull on the Beach and Big Pecker's for sitting on the swings. The boardwalk is always a must! I think there is a boat that is pirate themed from kids, but not sure if there are any regulations for riding while pregnant, etc.
