Toilet ring--help!

How do you get rid of a toilet ring? What works? The cleaners I've bought do not help.

Re: Toilet ring--help!

  • When we moved into our old house we had some significant rings. I used a 50:50 vinegar water solution, sprayed it on the stains and let it sit overnight and then scrubbed. Worked pretty well.
  • After dealing with a roommate that didn't clean her toilet for over a year, I tried everything to get it clean.  The only thing that worked was a pumice stone.  Looks like a new toilet again!
  • Use a pumice stone. They sell them at hardware stores.
  • I have used Bon Ami to get stains and rings off of a toilet bowl before. I just sprinkled it on and let it sit for about 5 minutes. You can find it in the cleaning section near the Ajax and Comet.
  • soft scrub gel with bleach. after you clean it, let the water sit for a few hours and it will be good as new! also great on countertop stains, depending on your countertops.
