Whereabouts are you guys? Or should I just look for the house that is spewing dust and construction bits out of every window? I feel for you, that would drive me nuts living in a house under construction!
We are at Plymouth and Levan. Plymouth road is on the other side of 96 -- about two miles south of 6 mile. And Levan is on the other side of 275 -- about two miles east of Haggerty. I can't really picture any houses there...I know there are a lot of businesses/stores/restaurants, but I am familiar with that general vicinity.
The end is near on some of our projects. Kitchen appliances get delivered Saturday, cabinets get delivered Monday and installed next Thursday. Then its just a matter of time to get countertops and plumbing all hooked up. Then we move on to the basement, but that will be easier since it doesn't intrude on our every day living.
I am excited to see pictures! I know you are planning to move in right away, but are there a lot of things you need to do to it?
Where do you work? How about Todd? Are you going to be driving far to work?

What do you have to do in the basement? Or should I not ask...
We have to paint....a lot. The entire first floor is this ugly mint chocolate chip color but we have been arguing over paint colors so we've decided to wait until we move in to choose anything. Then one of the bathrooms has a monkey theme (monkies painted on the walls along with random bananas.) It's actually really cute for a kids bathroom but considering we don't have any...
We also have to fix the grading around the house but other than that, there really isn't a whole lot that we plan to do except for a few minor things.
I work in downtown so the drive will be about 10 minutes longer on a good day but it's right off the highway so that makes it a bit easier. Todd is in Southfield so his commute is about the same as it is now.
Hopefully we'll get an idea of when they plan on moving out. They have "up to 30 days" but we hope to have a general idea so we can start planning move in. It's all so overwhelming so I'm trying to be positive but my stomach is in knots.
We are repairing the basement from the flood we had with all that rain around Memorial Day. We already ripped up the carpet so we need to replace some drywall, fix some electrical, replace a few items, replace doors, and get new carpet. That's what made the kitchen so overwhelming -- at least before I could escape to the basement but once it flooded, we had to tear it apart and it was a disaster.
Picking paint colors is stressful. I got a major headache because I had to pick colors for the kitchen, 1/2 bath, and baby's room. Andy has ZERO opinion ("whatever you want...") so my mom is a great help when it comes to that.
