Anyone read the series or am I the only nerd the read the books? I read them before the HBO series so it was interesting to compare. Well anyway the 5th book (A Dance with Dragons) came out today and I am super excited about it. It has been a long wait to see what is going on.
Re: Game of Thrones
I am slowly reading through the books. I am in the 2nd one now and love them but I can't seem to stay awake anymore to read to its taking forever to finish.
JenniC: the show followed the books very closely.
My mom got me into the show, and I just started reading the books. I loved the show and figured the books have to be good. I'm about halfway through the first one and can't put it down! It's actually going pretty fast, which is great because I cant wait to see what happens in the next book.
The show follows the book very closely so far.
The books are hard to read IMO, because of how it is written (jumping from viewpoint to viewpoint) it took me forever to get through all 4. The HBO series stays pretty close to the books for the most part. Some of the content of the books is hard to capture and obviously they will have to cut some stuff out. DH did not read the books but watched the series with me. He isn't interested at this time to read the books, but will if they do not continue through all of the books.
Season 2 started production so that will be interesting.
