I just watched "All About Eve" for the first time ever, my God how have I missed this?! What a fabulous movie. Great lines, great characters. Any other favorites that I should add to my must see list?
If you haven't seen it, please do!

Re: Classic movies
That's one of my all time favorites!
The Three Faces of Eve
Pygmalion
Arsenic and Old Lace
Anything Hitchcock, but especially Shadow of a Doubt
The Long Hot Summer
Trouble with the angels (don't remember the name of the sequel but it's good too)
the original Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucy O'Ball
all i can think of for now. I will add yours to my must see list!
To Catch a Thief
Charade
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
How to Steal a Million
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Rear Window
Some Like it Hot is a great comedy that translates well.
Rear Window.
i have alot .. occupational hazard from spending 5 years working in video stores
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Barefoot in the Park
The Philadelphia Story and High Society (kate hepburn's in one, grace kelly the other but its the same story)
the original Father of the Bride and its sequel Daddy's Little Dividend
Once Upon a Time in America
Jane Eyre with Joan Fontaine & Orson Welles
Rebecca with Laurence Olivier & Joan Fontaine
Indiscreet with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman
Ditto Rear Window for sure. It's not necessarily Hitchcock's best but it is my favorite of all his movies!
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers if you like musicals. The barn-raising scene is fantastic!
His Girl Friday with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. They talk so fast that when the movie first starts it's like watching a movie in another language! But it's so fun!
A slightly newer one is The Great Escape with Steve McQueen. LOVE that movie!
A Man Escaped -another great war prison break movie. It's French so there are subtitles but not a lot of dialogue anyway.
I loooove old movies and could probably name a ton more but I'll ease up for now. Oh, and believe it or not, I haven't seen All About Eve yet! So I'll have to add that to my Must See list now.
"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers if you like musicals. The barn-raising scene is fantastic!"
LOVE THIS MOVIE! It is my all time favorite, and isn't very popular. That is my favorite scene too.
I also love Three men and a baby-not very old though
The classic Breakfast at Tiffany's, and most of audrey hepburn's movies
Unsinkable Molly Brown
Some of my favorites include...
Gone With the Wind
The Wizard of Oz
Patton
Tora! Tora! Tora!
The King and I
Romeo and Juliette (the 1960's version)
Mary Poppins
...wow! What a random list lol. I have war, musicals, and tragedies on my list.
I'm so happy to see all the love for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers! It's one of my all-time favorites. Did you know that Dorcas (the sexiest bride) was played by Julie Newmar?? She's listed by her original name in the credits.
I also love old Audrey Hepburn movies. Some great ones that haven't been listed yet are Roman Holiday (my favorite of hers), Sabrina and Charade. Oh, and Funny Face! The beatnik interpretive dance scene is so so awesome. I just saw a little-known movie of hers called The Children's Hour. Really good and waaay ahead of its time, but definitely not a feed-good kind of movie.
Agreed! I love that movie!
I'm sorry but this is LOL-worthy! I think you mean Lucille Ball
A couple more that I just remembered:
Dr. Zhivago
Nicholas and Alexandra (seriously LOVE this one)
Donate to My Pancreatic Cancer Research Page
I love classic movies so I could say a million. I'll just give you some of my top ones though.
Arsenic and Old Lace
A Place in the Sun
An American in Paris
North by Northwest
Charade
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
The Harvey Girls
I could go on, but I'll stop. Haha.
Tea Time for Lulu
Wow, realizing what a failure I am at classic movie-watching. I am a big fan of musicals though, especially the "golden era" musicals. I love stuff by Rodgers & Hammerstein, as well as My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, etc.
Married Bio
Singing Website
This is almost exactly what I was about to say! Maybe next winter I'll have to start watching some of these classics.
