Re: Runners Check in
1) Last week was good. I got 2 3 milers in, and then my 10K on Sunday. I ran it in 1hour and 1 minute, for a pace of 9:58 min/mile. No PR, but happy with my time.
2) Unfortunately, I think I got food poisioning or a stomach bug, and I'm pretty much down for the count at the moment. I hope to be back to normal in the next day or so, but no running right now as I can't eat much and have no energy. At least it happened after the race!
3) Hmm.. Once I almost spit on a girl during a race. She was trying to pass me on the right and I didn't see her. There wasnt much room either between me and the side of the trail. Thankfully I missed!
Cooking Blog
1) How did last week go? Better than the week before it - I got 3 solid runs in, early in the morning before it got too hot.
2) Plans for this week? Running T-Th-Sa, and I've just started a masters swim program, so that's M-W-F. I think my big plan is to get a massage Sat afternoon.
3) Anyone have a funny running story? Nothing lately.
1) Last week was better! Thursday's 2 mile run (with speed pickups) was pretty good. And then Saturday was 6 miles with some inclines/hills. I increased my run/walk intervals back up to 2:1, and it felt great. No ankle pain either.
2) We're doing hill repeats tonight. Then 2 miles on Thursday. Saturday is a timed run (1 hour 15 minutes).
3) It's not really funny, and it's not my story, but a couple of weeks ago some of the mentors were telling us about a girl last year who stopped off to pee on the side of the trail, and used a leaf to wipe. A piece of the leaf remained in her pants where it shifted all over her butt, crotch and lower back as she ran. She wound up with poison oak all over her nether-regions as a result! Ouch!
1) I am just getting back into a routine since totally falling off the schedule. Got one good workout last week, but had a solid run Sunday, going back today for some more.
2) Trying to get 5K in tonight with some weights and a swim in tomorrow afternoon. But am going to watch the recording of Wait, Wait Don't tell me and then up in Tahoe Fri-Sunday.
3) This isn't my story, but I will steal it. Sunday, when I was running at the gym there was a pretty attractive girl running next to me. This douchey looking guy came up to her and said "How can I get you to run to me like that?" She just pointed to her headphones and acted like she couldn't hear him.
