Just had a scary call-the-pediatrician experience with Kyle during lunch. He had one bite of the leftover lasagna from last night's dinner (which he had eaten without issue) and he refused any more bites. He started rubbing his face and I couldn't tell if it was sauce or a rash...
I brought him into the bathroom to clean him up, and he was splotchy all over, with some spots looking more like little pimples coming out. His eyes were red and watery, and his eyelids were puffy.
Called the pediatrician, and was told to give him some Benadryl and otherwise keep an eye on him.
Good news: his face swelling is going down, rash/splotchiness is going away, eyes are starting to look more normal again. My poor little guy! Thank goodness the Benadryl seems to be working.

Re: Food Allergy
it could be a reaction to the tomatoes. I have an allergy to them (but LOVE them so very, VERY much), and have to be careful about eating them. Things with sauce are tough b/c while it could be fine right after I make it, if it sits for a day sometimes it gets to acid-y and I get blotchy.
I'd really rec getting an allergy test done asap. It can be a simple blood test (I know, not easy with a lo) and not the scratch test. J *just* had one done a couple weeks ago b/c of a reaction to a nut cookie (she'd had walnuts a million times, now we have to carry an epi pen)
I honestly don't know how young they do the scratch test. J had a blood draw (4 of the long vials) and it took us a week to get the results. I know the order was for a "typical childhood allergy panel" and then a specific one for walnuts b/c that's what she reacted too.
I learned that cockroaches are part of the typical childhood allergy panel & that J is severely allergic to them.
