If you could move anywhere, where would it be?
Toughie....I'd like to say somewhere like Colorado due to its lack of humidity, but I've never been there, so I can't say for certain. Of all the places I've been, I'd have to pick Virginia...somewhere near the beach.

If you could get another dog, what would your preferred breed be? What would you name it?
Great Dane. He will be called Hamlet.

What's one physical feature that you love about yourself? One that you wish you could change?
Also another toughie. I love my smile. Spent a lot of money on my smile. I hate my squinty eye. When I smile my eyes don't have the same shape: one stays open and the other squints. So I usually go with either my real smile/squinty eye or fake smile/no squints. So changing the squinty eye would enable me to show off my smile!

    You asked for it...

Who is the designer of your dress? Alfred Angelo

What's your name? Mallory What's your FI's name? Danny

How old are you both? 26, he's 3 months older

Where do you live? Southwest Pa, hour or so south of Pittsburgh

What do you do (work, school)? currently, I'm displaced, so I won't know until August. Sad

How long have you and your FI been together? since December 23, 2003

How did you and your FI meet? We worked together at a local grocery store

Do you live together? uh, duh!!! Stick out tongue

Do you own or rent? Own, and have owned since 6 months prior to the wedding

Where to you plan to live after you're married? The same place where we bought our house

Is there an age difference? nope....(no wonder we quit doing these...kinda redundant)

Are there children in your future? maybe. Once we hit the 3 year mark, we'll discuss it

How many in your bridal party? 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 1 jr groomsman, flower girl, ring bearer

When and where are you getting married? Married Sept 5, 2009 in our hometown

Where are you going on your honeymoon? Went to VA Beach

Do you have any pets? Buddy & Benny (see siggy)

What is the first project you will tackle after the wedding? we did lots of painting. Biggest project was recarpeting the living room and 2 bedrooms

What has been your favorite part of planning? I liked the DIY the best

What has been your least favorite part of planning? Finding a way to pay for it

Is there something about your wedding you wish you could do differently? I wish we would have gotten on our cake lady a lot more. We thought she saw our vision, but she didn't. Everyone loved the cake, but we wanted it a LOT bigger.

How many guests are you inviting? We invited around 350, about 275-300 actually came

How long after your wedding do you plan on having children (if you're planning on any)? about 3 years

How many children would you like? He wants one, I want 2

Is your family similar sized to your FI's? Yes and no. His is larger, but they are never in the same place at the same time, so mine seems bigger

Will the wedding guests be "balanced"? Not at all. Most were my family and my parents' friends that knew me since I was in the womb

What do you like to do in your spare time (hobbies)? I like to read, crochet/knit, hike, bike, and play with the poochies

Where are your favorite places to go out to eat? Texas Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Wendy's

What are your favorite things to cook? I prefer to bake, but I can make a mean lasagna

What is the best place you've ever traveled to? The Caribbean. Favorite islands are Aruba and Barbados

Does your wedding have a theme? Not really, but we used a lot of fall colors

What are your wedding colors? Red, yellow, orange, silver

What are some traditions you're keeping at your wedding? Pretty much all of them

What are some traditions you are not keeping at your wedding? I don't think we really skipped anything

What is one thing about your FI that drives you nuts? He leaves the toilet lid down. He will put the seat down, but also closest the lid. I tend to not look at the toilet as I'm rushing to the bathroom in the middle of the night and have many times frozen my tooshie on the porcelain

Name a favorite passtime that you and your FI enjoy together. We love playing tennis on the Wii

Has anyone opposed your decision to get married? Nope

What kind of car do you drive? 1999 gold Chevy Cavalier

How far is your commute to work? It was about 25 minutes...now I don't know

    What's your favorite season? Autumn

Give us one random fact about yourself.  In high school band, I was auxiliary captain (the flags) during marching season and 2nd chair trumpet during concert season

What time do you get up? For work, around 7....now that I'm on summer vacation afternoon pretty much sums it up

Do you already have children?  Ages & names. Nope

Are you changing your last name? Dear Lord don't get me started on this. The plan was to change it from Mallory Ann Smith to Mallory Ann Smith Doe (with Smith moving to a 2nd middle name), but the damned DMV told me I couldn't do that without a court order. So my last name is currently Smith Doe (no hyphen)...and now I hate it. I am looking into getting a court order to have it done the way I want because it's becoming a pain. People either hyphenate it when it isn't supposed to be or they spell it Smithdoe without the space. It makes me stabby, especially because I socially go by just Doe.

What do you listen to at work? Screaming little children

What do you do that you consider good for the environment? We recycle as much as we can

What was the reaction of your family and friends when you announced your engagement? Everyone pretty much was like "FINALLY!!" Because they all knew it was coming

What do you think will be the hardest thing about being married? Before marriage I figured it would be merging finances....now I've come to realize it's my ILs....

What are you most looking forward to about being married? Finally having "us" time. Before we were married we were both going to school full time and working (or just working separate shifts) and only saw each other once a week. I like being able to be in the same house and be happy not seeing him unless he walks past me to get a drink.

List any favorites you have (color, food, drink etc).
    Color-orange

    Food-anything Italian

Drink- (alc) fuzzy navel, (non-alc) chocolate milk

List anything you dislike. People who don't use their turn signals, the sound of people eating/drinking, touching things when my fingers are water-pruney, liars, bitchesez

How will you be celebrating the holidays when you're married? We rotate Christmas. My mom's side is once every 7 years, my dad's side is once every 5 years, his side is once every 3 years. Thanksgiving & Easter are 2 meals at our parents' homes. Picnic holidays are whoever has the most kielbasa.

Who's your new favorite in-law? Danny's uncle Dave. He lives in Nantucket and only comes down a few times a year, but he is hilarious and the only relative who has been straight with me since Danny and I have been dating.

What about your least favorite? Used to be FIL because I just couldn't read him. Now MIL & SIL are beating each other with sticks to be the one I hate.

What's your biggest pet peeve? People who are two-faced. They talk nice to you and about you until you leave.

What sports/activities did you do when you were younger? In elementary school, I played soccer. I did a lot of academics: spectroscopy, AP classes, summer college courses. In high school it was all about band.

Do you still participate in them? not really

Where did you and your FI go on your first date? We went to the movies to see "Stuck on You" and had Chinese food.

What book are you currently reading?  Do you like it? Right now, nothing, but I have at least 4 books waiting for me.

  • The rest of the BOTD:How did your FI (or you) propose? We were on Spring Break, visiting my cousin in Florida and hitting up Disney and Universal. It was a Sunday and we just got back from the Magic Kingdom. It was 1am and we were dead tired and just turned the lights off to go to bed. I am thisclose to being asleep when Danny says, "I need to talk to you about something." -- "What?" -- "Can you turn the light on?" --"NO! What do you want?"-- "Please turn the light on; it's important." So I turned the light on and he asks if I said anything to my mom about him and I getting married. I kinda freaked, because at that time (I thought) my mom wasn't too keen on the idea, so I said, "Well, in jest, but I never actually said, 'Mom, we need to talk about Danny & I getting married.'" Then he pulled out a ring and said, "I guess you'll have to do that now." I marveled at the sparkle and then promptly turned the light out and laid back down to go to sleep. He says, "Is that a yes?" --"Yes."
Without being wedding related, what is the most significant thing that has ever happened to you in your life?  Did it have a positive or a negative effect?  Why? When I was 12 years old I was almost kidnapped. My sister and I were riding bikes about 7 houses down from our house and a guy tried to pull me into his car. I had to bite him to get him to let go. Then about 2 years later he tried to kidnap the younger sister of a boy in my class (with pepper spray) and the same winter he attacked a girl with a pipe. She beat him off with a snow shovel. He is currently in prison. I think it had both a positive and negative effect. Negatively, I now have PTSD and severe anxiety problems plus trichotillomania (TTM--compulsive hair pulling, which used to cause huge bald spots on my head and when I was 15 I had no eyelashes for a few months). Positively, I got over that, "I'm invincible" mentality that a lot of kids/teenagers have and matured quickly. It made me more responsible for my younger sister (she was a witness to what happened and I felt the need to protect her). It also gave me the mentality that I can overcome anything that is thrown at me, if I use my head, think on my feet and never give up.

Whats your favorite way to eat pepperoni rolls? warmed up in the microwave.

What do you like most about the Niners? I like the friendships that I've developed over the past 4 (or so) years. Even though I haven't met anyone in person, I feel like I "know" you guys and most of you know me better than my IRL friends.

What do you dislike most about the Niners? It has been quite boring around here lately.

Do you have google+? Do you like it? I have no clue what it even is. I read MB's post about it and I'm still clueless.

Favorite TV Show/s? My absolute favorite is Criminal Minds. I also like Supernatural, but since Eric Kripke (the creator) quit and sold it, I haven't been watching it much. I also love Ghost Hunters/GHI, Mythbusters, & Family Guy.

What did you like most about your trip to Gettysburg? EVERYTHING!! I absolutely loved my whole trip. We stayed at the Brafferton B&B and it was great. The food was wonderful. I loved the museum and walking the battlefields. We took a ghost tour and an auto-tour of the fields and they were both great. I can't really pick anything that I would say was my favorite. Too hard.

What is your favorite room in your house and why? The kitchen. Even though this isn't our forever home, my kitchen is the closest to my forever kitchen. I love the color and layout and the only thing I would need to make it awesome would be a dining room (so I didn't have to work around the table), a double oven and a breakfast bar/island.

What is your favorite color to wear? I love wearing bright colors, any bright colors. The color that looks the best on me, even though it's not my favorite, is pink.

  • imageamelianguy:

What's your favorite song right now? Hmmm, that's tough. I have such a wide range of music, that it's really hard for me to pick a favorite. But, my go-to summer time song is "Call Me the Breeze" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's awesome to sing along to with your windows down

What turns you on the most about Danny? The least? Body wise, it's his shoulders. He has huge cave man (minus the hair) shoulders and I love them. Personality wise, it's his sense of humor. I love that he makes me laugh and it really adds to why I love him so much. The least would have to be his gaming. There are times when I need some sexy time and he's too worried about his damn Paladin (WOW) to even notice.

What's your worst habit?Hair pulling. Even with therapy and knowing that it makes me look like a looney, it's a hard compulsion to break.

What is your hidden talent?I have no talent. Sad Really, I'm pretty mediocre.

Would YOU eat a live octopus for $1,000? Nope. I have eaten dead octopus before, but an episode from the 2nd season of CSI:NY scared me out of trying any living animals. The chick died because someone fed her live octopus and the suckers stuck to her throat and she suffocated. No living things, especially ones that can kill me.

what do you always ALWAYS buy at Sheetz? A large MTO hot mocha. 2% milk, whipped cream, extra chocolate, double espresso. Num yummy

do you love Primanti Brothers? TBH, I've never eaten there. I'm such a horrible "Pittsburgher." We don't really head up to Pittsburgh unless it's to visit my cousin in Monroeville or to go to Kennywood. And we usually eat at my cousins or aren't in the mood for big meals after a trip to the amusement park. If we head to Robinson to Christmas shop, I plan on making Danny stop this year.

What is your favorite Ben and Jerry's flavor? Chunky Monkey, with Cherry Garcia coming in at a close second. Depends on my mood.

What side of the bed do you sleep on? Do you switch it up or stay on the same side no matter where you guys travel? I sleep on the right side (looking at the bed) because when I slept alone, my bed was pushed against a wall and it felt weird to sleep on the other side. We don't switch it up. If we would, I wouldn't get any sleep.

What is your favorite cereal? Cinnamon Life

What is your ringtone on your phone? Some generic AT&T thing. But I have ID ringers: Danny is Ghostbusters, my mom is TMNT, my sister is the theme from Golden Girls, and my dad is Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

Do you like pens or pencils? Do you have a favorite brand? I prefer pens when I'm working, pencils for drawing. I don't have a favorite brand, but I like the gel pens that dry really fast--they may be pilot or they may be G2s...not sure, they both make them.
