WFB?

I've got a good go-to lunch nailed down, but breakfast still eludes me.  Lately I've been bringing a granola bar and a piece of fruit, but man is that boring.  I have to admit that these new (to me) granola bars are filling, but I feel like I could be doing better with my breakfasts.

Let's ignore the fact that I'm about to head next door to Tim Horton's for today's breakfast, m'kay?

Re: WFB?

  • And yes, I'm still working on increasing my post count.  I apologize for any-and-all inane posts to come.

  • This morning I had coffee, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread, and grapes. Yesterday I had a breakfast burrito.
  • Currently I am having a very healthy breakfast of mint chocolate chip ice cream and coffee. When Ada wakes up we will have whole wheat toast with peanut butter and fruit.

  • My go-to weekday breakfasts include a frozen waffle with peanut butter on it, kashi's version of shredded wheat, a mini bagel with cream cheese or peanut butter, or scrambled eggs with chopped up veggies and cheese (in the microwave, which a nestie suggested when I asked for low-carb breakfast ideas a few months ago).  If I'm really hungry or in a hurry I'll have pb&j on whole wheat or waffles.
  • This morning I had pecan crunch cereal (or something like that...off-brand) with fresh blueberries on top. I like oatmeal too. I also like Jimmy Dean D-lights turkey sausage breakfast sandwiches. Toast and a hard boiled egg; sometimes I even have PB&J. ;)

  • Kashi Go Lean Crunch with blueberries and vanilla soy milk.  And whatever DS doesn't finish of his cheesy egg and yogurt.

  • Chocolate Protein shake, banana and Chocolate Peppermint Luna Bar is what I've had so far.  I have blueberries and another banana that will probably both be eaten in the next hour.

  • I pretty much always make Quaker's quick oats with a banana mashed in and a dash of milk. If I get bored, I switch up the fruit that I put in.

  • Yesterday was a bowl of multigrain Cheerios and a peach. Today will be half a blueberry bagel and a peach.

During the school year, I like breakfasts I can prep and have in the fridge so that I don't have to do much in the morning. One of my favorites is 1/2 c Greek yogurt w/ a handful of frozen berries on top. Left in the fridge overnight, the berries thaw out and are ready to be eaten in the morning. Sometimes I'll throw a handful of Kashi Go Lean Crunch on top and mix it all up. During the winter, I often make a big batch of oatmeal on the stovetop and divide it up into individual containers, so all I have to do in the morning is microwave it.
  • I had a cup of coffee, which was so wonderful this morning. Haven't had one in awhile. And I plan on having a sticky bun later on. I know healthy, but I need something to jump start my morning!

  • lol today I had a Fiber One bar with a banana.

Usually though I bring oatmeal with some peanut butter mixed in and sometimes I'll add a banana. I mix it up the night before and let it soak overnight and in the morning at work I pop it in the microwave for abotu 30 seconds to take the chill off so to speak (bc I hate cold oatmeal.)  It fills me from about 630 am until noon.

  • i've been making breakfast wraps and bringing them in.  today i had egg, bacon and cheese on a whole grain wrap.  it tides me over and i am barely hungry at lunch.
  • My old standby....whole wheat toast with peanut butter and a yogurt. I love this breakfast because it actually keeps me full. Oh I had two strawberries too.

  • About a year ago I forced myself to eat and like yogurt which was a really hard thing for me to do because of the bitterness...but now that I've found which ones I like and don't like, that generally tends to be my breakfast.

From time to time I'll buy either a case of the fruit Chobani or a tub of plain Chobani at BJ's and have that for breakfast.  When there's a good sale at the grocery store, I'll opt to stock up instead on Yoplait Greek yogurts or Yoplait thick and creamy yougurts.  If it's a plain Greek yogurt, fruit or granola or sometimes both get tossed in for added "umph" and protein.  I think texture definitely had something to do with why I didn't like yogurt before and thicker yogurt is what I prefer.

Despite getting up at 5:30am on most days, I don't eat breakfast until I get to the office and even then, it's usually about 9:00am before I'm eating.  I find that it fills me up until lunch and I love that it's a non-fat or very low fat breakfast packed with protein.

The weekends on the other hand, are very different for me.  I usually skip breakfast and just have lunch, snack, and dinner.

  • I usually try to keep a few boxes of different cereal here at work so that I have a variety to choose from. This morning was a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats and half of a cup of coffee.
  • M-F I have 2 pieces of whole wheat toast, 1 with butter and jam and 1 with peanut butter, a large travel mug of irish tea with honey and almond milk. I don't want to have to think about breakfast during the week. The bread is in the toaster oven the night before, as is the water in the electric kettle. All I have to do is turn them both on. If I am running late, I can take them with me. I am one of those people that needs to eat breakfast BEFORE I get to work.

  • I have been eating a lot of cereal this summer but during the school year I tend to need something I can eat in my car on the way to work since I am usually running late.  We have been buying the Jimmy Dean D-lights Turkey Sausage Muffins. They are actually not too horrible for you and have a good bit of protein so keep me full until lunch.

  • Fage Blueberry Acai yogurt and a banana.

Sometimes I have cereal (Annie's Cinnamon Roll Bunny-Os, Multigrain Cheerios, Kashi Toasted Berry Crumble), sometimes Better Oats oatmeal, sometimes a banana with PB, sometimes a Kind bar or a Clif bar. I change what I eat in the morning a lot.

  • Even though I am home in the mornings because I work at night, I still only have coffee for breakfast.
  • I'm on an overnight oats kick.  Perfect breakfast for busy mornings with a newborn and toddler.  I mix in a spoonful of chunky pb!

  • Usually cereal of some sorts or yogurt.  I'm not big on breakfast foods.  Never have been.
