Hey Ladies!
Hope you all had a great weekend, and hope you're somewhere cool today because this heat is going to get ugly.
Im in a mood today, and thought Id start a little Ranting & Raving...
I'll go first:
Rant:
My biggest fear came to life. When I was pregnant, I worried that when I had the baby, people would lie about being sick and come see the baby anyway. I have a friend who is in healthcare by the way, who came with her husband to see the baby. They are both smokers, and typically have smoker's coughs. Prior to their coming to see her, I asked if they were sick because I cant take a risk with the baby. They assured me they weren't. Came to see her, they washed their hands, held Avery and hung out for about 2 hours.
Come to find out, they were both on medication for chest infections, the husband got hospitalized and she's out of work at home sick as a dog. When I found this out, I freaked the F out, asked her why she lied and why would she come to my house to meet a baby who never had any shots, and is so vulnerable right now - she says "But, she's so cute, I wanted to see her. She's not sick yet, so whats the problem?"
With that, I proceeded to lose.my.damn.mind. Called her every name in the book, and might/might not have said "And dont let me catch you outside because I will whoop.your.@ss" LOLOL. Um, worst part? I meant it and still mean it. I cut her off, but Im furious. Thankfully, Avery isn't sick and I've been watching her like a hawk. Who needs the extra stress though?!
Rave:
I am loving being a mother. From the easiest pregnancy, to an easy delivery (even without an epidural, it was virtually pain free) - to a sweet and yes, easy baby..life is really good. DH slid right into Daddy role, and has been so amazing to the both of us. Wow, am I over the moon right now.
Okay girls, your turn..jump in!
Re: Monday Rants & Raves?!
Rant
I was so excited to get the scores for my students' exam. When they were released, however, I realized that they screwed it all up. Not sure why because it was all good last year. First of all, most of my students didn't fill out the section correctly so the scores were in two different places. Secondly, the scores were inconsistent with what my principal got. I guess that will get worked out over the summer but I'm still irritated about it. Thirdly, one of my students didn't get any of his scores. Poor guy is the only one. As much as I want to know his score (I am sure he did well), I bet he's going even more crazy over it. I told him to contact them today.

That said, the students did really well overall. Not only did the scores improve amazingly from last year's, they performed better than the national average in every way. All but a handful passed. Most did realllly well. (Still would like them to improve, but that can be worked on next year.) I am just super proud.
Rant:
I know I'm not the person thought of as the fun friend. During the summer, now I have time for more of a social life. So, before leaving school some of us talked about doing a GTG. A lot of us live in the same area. I texted and FBed when would be a good time. I got 1 reply out of 8.
Rave:
Genevieve's daycare called back and have a spot. I'm doing paperwork tomorrow. It looks to be a great little place that only does up to 4 years.
That really stinks about the screwup with the grades, but is SO awesome that your students did well. That is the amazing thing about being a teacher, to have a part in that. I think teachers are amazing people, personally...
I think this is such a weird thing. It often happens to me too, and I think that sometimes when people say "Oh, we should totally hang out" or "Lets make plans to get together" - its not sincere, but rather a different form of saying "Hi, how are you" where the person just asks how you are, but doesnt want to really know.
I'm super social and this happened to me a couple of times, and I figure people are just flakes. Girl, brush it off and try to get some of your friends together that you know will spend the time with you!
