Recommend your everyday tableware
We have a set of ceramic dishes we purchased at Kohl's about 5 years ago. We've had problems with chipping in the dishwasher practically since day 1, and plus I'm tired of the style. I'm looking to buy a new set, and hoping to have better luck in the chipping department. Any suggestions of a durable brand? I'd like to stick with ceramic, but I haven't narrowed down colors, styles, patterns, etc. yet.
Thanks!
Happy mom to two sweet, silly boys: Cohen age 4, AJ age 2.
Re: Recommend your everyday tableware
I love my Fiesta dinnerware. It's pretty much always on sale too
I have a set of Phsalcraft(sp?) and LOVE them! A CW game them to me
as she loves me! They're an older pattern, but the dishes are AMAZING and I can still order replacements online if I need to.
If I didn't have these I would also get Corelle, if you're heading to Williamsburg soon, there is a Corelle store there!
We have two full sets that we switch between using, but I think this one would fit what you are looking for the best:

It is really reasonably priced for being pb, and it amazingly durable. we don't have a single chip, crack, etc. And I love that it is white b/c it is so versatile. You can add chargers if you want to fancy it up around the holidays, and it goes w/ any decor.
We have the Pottery Barn Great White set - very similar to what All-His mentioned above. I love it - and like she said it's easy to dress-up when needed.
I've had my set of this since the 90s and it still looks great, no chips or cracks. Mine had a blue stripe, which was discontinued, so we only have 4 place settings. If the blue had still been around when we got married, I would have just bought another couple of sets.
The stuff we ended up getting in a larger quantity when we got married and what we end up using the most now is the Everyday dinnerware from Bed Bath & Beyond. I haven't been there in ages, so not sure if/what they still sell from this line, but it was cheap - starting at something like $3 for the cereal bowls and small plates. It's holding up pretty well. We have one chipped bowl from getting dropped, but everyday use and the dishwasher have been kind to it.
