So an update (for those not on my fb). Jeremy had to have emergency surgery yesterday afternoon. He'd been complaining of his abdomen hurting but he thought it was just a pulled oblique muscle from doing some weight training at the gym. I believed him since he works out and trains all the time. Well, we helped my sister and BIL move Saturday and he said he was still in pain but he took some motrin and said it helped. Sunday was the same thing. We were going to leave Sunday to head back to Augusta from my parents but some old family friends stopped by and we got to talking and it was just too late to leave so we decided to leave Monday morning.
After he woke up, he was doubled over in pain and couldn't sit and could barely walk but being a man he refused to go to the doctor. After about 30 minutes or so of being in constant pain, we went to the ER. They did lab work (came back with pristine results (their words). They said they've never seen labs look so great but they did a CT scan to try to figure out what was going on. Well, he had a perforated ulcer and was taken back for surgery within the hour.
He's all fixed now and recovering now. He has an NG tube and is NPO (can't eat/drink anything except ice chips) til at least Thursday. We'll be here til Friday or Saturday and then he'll still probably stay in Dublin so he doesn't have to travel back to Augusta.
The awesome, terrific, amazingly fantastic news is he heard back from the FD today and he PASSED his test and will now start the physical training for the fire dept! He's hired on and now we just have to get him well enough to train. He's so excited (as much as possible with all his pain meds) about passing the test and getting hired on.
Sorry about the book. I'll try to get on when I can.
P.S. Anyone want a MIL? I have one free to a good home ![]()

This!! My DH's ex-wife used to OD him on cold medicine when he was sick (I only give him the proper recommended dosage and I baby him) because he can be such a baby about it, but when he kept throwing his back out he was acting like it was no big deal even though I could tell he was in pain.

And I completely agree with everyone about guys being big babies about the little things but not the bigger ones. Thanks again!
