Bridal Shower help

The MOH and I are trying to think of locations for my FSIL's shower. She wants a homey type feel but unfortunately there will be too many people to fit in any one of our homes. The bridesmaids will be hosting it. We are not totally opposed to a restaurant if we can get the right feel for it.  Do you guys have any suggestions/locations?

** Oh i forgot to add, we are up in Orange county, but are willing to go to Rockland, Bergen area.

The Savory Grill on 32 has a "homey" feel.  We only ate there once and we weren't overly impressed but it may have been an off night because I heard tons of positive reviews otherwise.

  • I also wanted a more homey feel for my baby shower and my sister ended up renting out an American Legion and had it catered.  It felt much homier than a restaurant because no one was rushing us out.  We had the rental the whole day and weren't on anyone else's clock.

She used (and we have used several times) World of Food Catering - located in Rockland.

  • I was just coming to recommend the Savory Grill! Its a very homey feel, in fact, my bridal shower was there  they did a WONDERFUL job...
  • i had my bridal shower at the elks club in nanuet. you don't need to be a member to use the facility. the food was really good and it was very relaxed. i believe the price is reasonable. there are about 3 rooms to choose from including a pavillion (just in case you wanted to do something outside)

we plan on doing LO christening reception there in December.

  • thanks girls!!!

I had mentioned renting a firehouse or VFW but the MOH didn't really seem open to this idea.
