What are you reading?

I started The Help on Thursday night & finished it Saturday morning. I really liked it & I have passes to see the movie tomorrow night.

I'm working on Something Borrowed & am on the waiting list for Water for Elephants and The Hunger Games.

What are you reading?

  • The Long Walk... Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman

  • Ha, I was just about to post this!  My brain is turning to mush watching bad summer tv and I really need to read more books.

I bought The Help with the intent to read it on DH's Kindle, but I haven't gotten around to starting it yet.  Now that I know it's good I'll have to get to reading it!

  • I'm reading the third book in The Hunger Games triology, Mockingjay. I'm loving the series, and I'm already excited for the movie to come out next year!

I also just finished Still Alice. Sad, but a good read.

I thought that The Help was fantastic, as well. I couldn't put it down. Let us know what you think of the movie! :)

Next up is I'd Know You Anywhere, and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

  • Shania Twain's autobiography, "From This Moment On".  It's been a pretty good read so far, I find her interesting.

I really liked this book!  I also loved The Help.

  • Oh, I also have Life of Pi sitting on my table. I feel like I might have read it before, or maybe I've just been meaning to, for like 10 years.
  • Unbroken:  A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

     So far, it's awesome.

This was such a good book!  My Future SIL gave me this book for xmas last year and I had it finished in less than two days.

I am reading some book from the free books list on amazon with my kindle.  Honestly, it's not that good...

I loved that book, I read it a few months ago.

I'm also currently reading The Help. Love it!

  • I just finished the Book Club book, The Chosen One.  It was a pretty good read, sad though.  I really want to read The Help and Something Borrowed.  I also want to start reading "Heaven is For Real" about the 4-year-old boy who had a near-death experience during surgery.
  • I'm finally reading the 3rd book in the Hunger Games Series.  I read through the other two so fast and then summer came and I don't read as much so I just picked it back up and I'm about half way through it.  I can't wait to see how it ends.
  • I am reading Shopaholic Takes Manhatten. I am not really enjoying it. I have a ton on deck. Recently, I added the Jaycee Dugar memoir book and I think that will go to the top of the list.

I read one or two from that series & couldn't handle anymore. Her spending stressed me out & I wanted to yell at her. ha

  • I am also on the third book of the Hunger Games series. There are perfect light fiction for summer. I feel like my brain will be ready to move on to something more in depth next.
  • 'The Broken Window' by Jeffery Deaver.  It's my first Lincoln Rhyme book & I'm a little thrown off because apparently the characters are not supposed to look anything like Denzel Washington or Angelina Jolie (from the bone collector).

  • The game of thrones series.  I am on the second book right now.  They are very good.

  • No books right now.  I am way behind on my magazine subscriptions that I am going to catch up on those until my mom is done with A Dance with Dragons.

  • "Killer Hair" It's some lite mystery that someone recommended to me after mentioning that I love the Stephanie Plum series.

It's ok.  If it's in a series, I try to read the first couple books to see whether I like it or not.  So far I'm indifferent.

  • "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot.  Awesome nonfiction book that reads like a novel.
  • Sing You Home - Jodi Picolt

    It's interesting for sure

I am waiting for a coworker to finish this book so I can read it after her.  At least I think it was this one.

I am currently trying to get into the first Janet Evonivich (sp?) book... one something.  I just can't do it.  Could be that it's a real book and not on the kindle... how silly is that?

I had just finished The Hunger Games and need to buy the next two books in the series but I didn't want to read them back to back.  I did that with the Twilight books and ended up hating them by the end.

  • LOVED The Help, I just finished that a few days ago.  No idea what is next, I gotta try and get The Chosen One from the library.  I don't want to pay the $9 to get it on my Nook....

I love the Janet Evanovich books. It took me a little bit to get into One for the Money but once I did it was great. I'm currently on the newest one. It's 17 but I don't remember the name.

I just finished reading a memoir called "Signs of Life" by Natalie Taylor. It's an excellent book... It is tough to read though because it is about a woman recently married who loses her husband when she is five months pregnant. The entire book takes place in Michigan. I had troubles putting it down once I started.
  • Just finished the Nanny Returns and starting My Horizontal Life -Chelsea Handler next on my kindle. I have a million books in my wish list and now thaks to this post I keep adding!
