XP from the Bump: 1 yr old @ Colette's?

This board is a little more hoppin' than the local Bump board so I thought I'd ask here (& get opinions of those that aren't parents).

Would it be inappropriate to bring my 13 mo old DS to Colette's Bar & Bistro (in the Sofitel) between 7:30-8pm for a friend's birthday? My friend thinks it would be okay. I'm not so sure. I've never been there but from the website, it doesn't look very "kid-friendly."

Re: XP from the Bump: 1 yr old @ Colette's?

  • I have never been, but my 2 cents- no.

Unless there are going to be a lot of other kids, which I doubt at that time of evening.  Also- would you have "fun" if you had to keep your child entertained instead of having a drink and enjoying the company of other adults?

The other adults are there to celebrate a birthday party, not entertain a child or have broken conversations with you because you have to watch you child.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, not meant too.  I am having this discussion with my husband regarding upcoming events, so I have strong feelings now.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

There may be other kids there but they are all at least school-aged children.  Since posting, I have found out I would also be alone with DS since SO has other plans.  I've told the birthday girl we'll have to make other plans & we hope to get together this weekend instead.

Thank you for your reponse.  You pretty much confirmed what I already thought.

  • You already decided but I will confirm.  I've been there.  It's not child friendly.  Find a sitter for your (insanely cute) kiddo and enjoy yourself!
