Ladies, I have lurked and been too busy to post. Love all the recent projects.
I got a request to crochet a Water Bottle Holder. Of course, I hit Raverly. My friend picked out: Girls Water Bottle Holder-if anyone was to look at the pattern.
Anyway, I started it last night and row 5 has me stubbed up.
Rnd 5: Ch 2, dc in next dc, chain 2, (work dc decease, chain 2), Repeat from (to) around. Join to first dc, 12 deceases made.
Rows 1-4 get you to a 24 dc circle. What I'm not getting is the (work dc decease, chain 2), Repeat from (to) around.
I did the ch2, dc in next dc, ch2. To decease am I supposed to decease as if I were working with sc or actually begin the dc stitch?
This is what Rnd 6 says:
Rnd 6: Slip stitch in next chain space, ch 2, dc in same space, ch2, (work dc decease in next space, ch2), Repeat from (to) around. Join to first dc. 12 decease made.
If I make these 2 rounds with deceases, I'll be back to a closed hole.
HELP!
Re: I have been MIA - need crochet help
The way I read it:
Ch2, dc in next dc, ch2
In next 2 dc, do a dc decrease: yo, insert hook into next dc, yo and pull through 1 loop, yo again, insert hook into next dc, yo and pull through all loops.
So you're turning the next 2 dcs into 1 with a decrease. You're making up for the decreases with the ch2s in between.
