Where to put salary requirements?

Does it go in the resume, cover letter, or in the body of the email where I do a brief intro and attach my cover letter and resume?

Re: Where to put salary requirements?

  • I'd add it to the cover letter.  Basically add a sentence that says something like:

My salary requirements are in the $X,000-X,000+ range, based on the job responsibilities and total compensation package.

If they ask for salary history, add a separate page that lists your jobs with title, dates, and salary.

Yay! Finally able to update my signature :)

  • I agree, cover letter.  Just a sentence about your requirements will do.
  • Are you blindly sending out your resume or something? I would probably leave it off a resume and cover letter. You should have a decent idea of what a job is expected to pay. It's something more appropriately discussed during an interview or another later time.

No--she has another post further down that she was applying to a job that specifically said to include salary requirements with the cover letter & resume.
