AW: Our New House
We closed on our house today so as of 11:45ish, I am officially a homeowner. Not a home-liver since we won't be able to
move in until next month but I own a house. This is crazy. Closing
went really well and I'm very proud of myself because I didn't have a
panic attack thinking of all that debt that I now have Todd even said he was proud of me!
So without further ado, here is our house. Our extremely messy, none of the crap is ours, house:

Yes, the owner definitely loves her themes. The coffee cup on the wall compliments the other coffee cup decorations in the room, the coffee cups etched into the backs of the chairs, the coffee cup salt/pepper shakers, etc. Then there is the monkey bathroom, and the Detroit Tigers room.
The monkeys will stay for a little while until I have time to tackle that project. I think they are super cute if you have kids but are a little weird if you are just 2 adults... DH is bummed. He really likes the monkeys.

Sadly no. That's going to be turned into the office and DH's "man zone" (a compromise since it wasn't a finished basement like he had originally wanted) and he's a HUGE Michigan State fan so all his MSU stuff will be in there. The blue carpet and paint will stay but the chair rail will get painted and his fat heads that he hasn't been allowed to buy thus far will be put up.
We just realized today that there's an old English D painted on the wall so we may just hang an MSU flag over it to cover it up. You can tell that was DH's solution so he has less work to do

On a side note. I know you have to fix the grading. When we did it a few weeks ago, we meaning DH, it wasn't too bad. We ordered 10 yards of screened topsoil for around $200. That was way too much. Dh had initially ordered 15 and I made him lower it. We still have about 4-5 yards left but I had him put in a retaining wall planter to use the rest. He wheel barreled loads around the house and the used a metal gardening rake to even it out. Making sure that it sloped away from the house instead of towards. You can tell if you put enough down or not. We then put grass seed on it all and we were done.

I like the monkey bathroom. It would be entertaining to have guests over and see their reaction. Definitely unexpected, I'm sure!
