I'm new, orders question

My husband and I just got married a few weeks ago and I'm trying to get enrolled in school. They told me that I needed his updated orders that listed me as a dependent, but when he went to look into it they told him he couldn't amend his orders. What are we supposed to do then? Are we just going about this the wrong way or doing something wrong? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you soo much ladies:)

Re: I'm new, orders question

  • His orders won't be amended if he's not in PCS status.

I'd offer a copy of his orders (whatever put him at his current duty station) and a copy of your dependent ID or marriage license.

  • Oh, gotcha! That makes sense his sister told us what to do, but I'm sure she had to do it different as her husband was about to be deployed. Thank you so much!
  • Yeah, even if he was deploying, a dependent's name wouldn't be on the orders because deployments aren't accompanied.

Don't listen to his sister. :)
