The Knot faux pas?

Since this board is dead, I'm throwing it back old school.

DH and I went to a wedding recently where there was no bar, a money dance, and what was supposed to be a bridal party dance.  I had never heard of any of these things being done except on The Knot when everyone would berate the person who mentioned having them at their wedding.

So, did you do anything at your wedding that would have been considered a Knot faux pas?  Or have you been to a wedding recently that has?

Re: The Knot faux pas?

  • maybe - i dont' know.  i'm sure some would think it a faux pas that we did a pick & choose of those whose children were invited and whose weren't.
  • Well, we didn't have a bar.  Period.  My mom's a recovering alcoholic and while some people were upset, they were there to celebrate us.  And although it was what it was, I got pretty mad at the bridal party / hubby's family that thought it appropriate to get trashed in the parking lot tailgate style.

We also did the dollar dance.  Our moms wouldn't hear of us not doing it.  I even got in trouble with one of my friends for not waiting long enough for him to dance with me! =]

As far as the bridal party dance, I've never even heard of that one...
