I'm a fairly strong test taker in general, I think I could theoretically do well enough on a September test, but how long did everyone else prepare?
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

I checked out the CD that came with registration the night before the test. That was it. I got the same score as my FI, who is smarter and studied beforehand.
If you did well at the SAT, this'll be similar and you can expect the same kind of stuff. It's a lot about how you think, not what you already know.
oh, this is a really good point, especially for the math section. There will be some complicated problems, but you're rarely expected to actually solve them. You simply need to know how to arrive at the correct solution. That was the hardest part for me to learn. When I first started studying, I had pages and pages of paper filled with complicated equations, and I was multiplying and dividing 5 and 6 digit numbers. The study guide will show you that you don't have to solve anything. There are very easy ways of determining the correct answer, doing very little math.
Thanks guys! I've decided to take it in the winter, so I have something to look forward to/focus on while FI is gone.
I did well on the SATs, and I got my test prep book in the mail yesterday. My dad is a math and physics professor, so he's going to go over stuff with me on Sundays before football.
I'm psyched! I love standardized tests!
