How do you rinse your LO's hair?

Right now I have Jeff do something goofy to make her look up and rinse her hair quickly. She hates getting water in her eyes-even when we use the gentle/no tears shampoo. We looked at the soft cups at BRU but idk how well they would work. Any tips? Plus, I never feel like I get all the shampoo out of her hair! I don't know how you guys do it with LO's with lots of hair!

Re: How do you rinse your LO's hair?

  • Granted my L doesnt have a ton of hair but I use the sprayer and have since shes was able to sit unassisted in the tub. Shes totally used to it now, when I first started doing it she wasnt thrilled but letting her try to do it herself helped.

  • Olivia was the same way. Just recently its helped by her holding a washcloth over her eyes and having her sing abcs.

I'm picturing this in my head and cracking up!!!

We just dump water on her head.  She hates it in the bath, but suddenly loves going underwater in the pool...

  • i use a water-soaked washrag and squeeze the water against his head and massage his head/hair.  it takes a few times to get it rinsed, but it allows more control for keeping the water out of eyes :)

  • Ella is a weirdo and loves getting her hair rinsed and water in her eyes! She asks us to do a "waterfall" which consists of filling up a big cup or toy boat that she has in her tub and dumping it all over her head. Its a funny sight to see!

Holy Cats!  This has me cracking up just picturing her and that cute little face with goggles on.  LOVE it!

  • Maya sometimes wears goggles too, but mostly just in the shower.  In the tub, she does a pretty good job at tipping her head back.  Rinsing her hair takes

especially this time of year when she gets sand in it.  Tongue Tied

  • I bought the soft cup- it works pretty well but still feels like we leave soap behind. Now we tell R to 'close your eyes' and that helps a lot- we make a game of it, like peekaboo. It's hard though!
